There is so much information about WLS in local libraries. And "on Line". You are going through what most WLS patients go through. Be nice to yourself. Drink your water, it won't be the 64 oz. but 2 oz. is better that 0 oz. Keep going you are strong!!

Topic: RE: Plastic surgery after weight loss
Lori is right. There is a lot to consider after the surgery. First, you need to lose the weight and work on your head. Drive the food demons out and set a good plan for long term weight maintenance. I am still working on this issue after five years. I have had a panni and an abdominoplasty. I didn't have my arms done or my legs and probably won't . I just wear capris and 3/4 length sleeves, lol. The plastic surgery was very painful and very expensive (and I had insurance approval). I had about $2500 out of pocket for that surgery. The bad side of it is that I abandoned my exercise program for a period of time during my recovery and didn't go back to it. Now, after five years, I am back on a diet. We are definitely a work in progress. So have your surgery and work on your head, the rest will follow.........when it is time. Good Luck! Suzie

I have it also, my 5 year old said "mommy you stick when you talk to me". I am going out today to buy some disolable breath strips. It is because our bodies have gone into ketosis which it a good thing. It means your body is burning more fat because of lack of carbs. Kristin

I'm getting sleeved on the 15th too!! Best wishes to both of you for an easy surgery and speedy recovery! Sally, did you have a pre-op diet to follow before your sleeve?

Topic: RE: Insurance coverage help needed
Thank you so much! Can anyone explain the difference in surgeries? (I don't want to get a forum fight started, just need basics) Recoup times etc. Why some work for others and others dont. Thanks again

Hi there. I have Blue Cross PPO and my insurance is covering 90% of the surgery. Plus my doctor is not requiring me to have the 6month diet thingy prior to summiting to insurance.

Topic: RE: 1st Dumping Syndrome experience
Hi Sharon I had RNY may 2 and although I am not hungry physically, sometimes the "mental" hunger is worse. I will be fine and then all of a sudden, I just feel like having something to eat. Maybe it was from all the snacking I used to do. For a couple of days, I felt pretty depressed, it was like losing your best friend. In a couple of days I felt better and back on track. I am sure I will go through some more bad times missing "my best friend" (food). I had asked a couple of people on OH and they said they got back into some of their old hobbies and found other ways to keep busy. Good Luck Di
