Try re-posting on the RNY board, it's more likely to be read by someone who can help you there. Also, don't forget about the DS board, lots of help there too. They helped me make my decision.

Topic: RE: Gastric Bypass v. Duodenal Switch
I'm doing the switch on the 27th with Dr. Marchesini. My research went from lap-band to RNY to DS. Over-all I liked the prospect of maintaining the pyloric valve. The DS board really helped me, if you like re-post there. Best wishes on your ultimate decision! -Cam

Topic: Got my date and approval from BC/BS
I really stuck to that diet that I was given for the first month and lost 18lbs on my own. So, they scheduled me for surgery on June 11th. I was put in for approval on Friday and got the approval this morning. Thank god for BC/BS. They have been great!!!! I have been on cloud 9 since Friday. I can't wait!!!

Topic: Gastric Bypass v. Duodenal Switch
Hello! I am nearly approved for the Gastric Bypass surgery, but I've been wondering if the Duodenal Switch might be the better option for me. I qualify - My BMI is around 51. I've heard that the duodenal switch is much more effective, but also much more risky. I do want to have children a few years down the road as well, so that factors into my decision. Does anyone have any input that might help me out? Thanks!!
