yes I'm going to Puerto Rico in June for two weeks and very excited but nervous because a lot of tradition foods from puerto rico are fried and very high in fat delicious but not healthy for me I'm gonna have to find ways to keep my eating under control. but I do look forward to the beaches and the nice hot weather and being able to do a lot of walking without getting tired, and also excited about wearing a bathing suit after soo many years...

Well this weekend I am heading to New Orleans to enjoy the Mardi Gras festivities.  In July I am definitely going to Gulf Shores, AL and possibly going to Las Vegas.  I always have one bag packed and ready to go somewhere!

Topic: Going anywhere?
Ok, so Im bored and Im trying to get some topics on here for us to discuss.

So the questions is....Are you planning a vacation this year? If so, where and how do you think your weight loss will effect it?

In 9 days I am going to Daytona Bike Week in where else but Daytona Florida.
Frankie (my husband) and I are huge Harley fans and are soooo excited to go. We went 2 years ago, which was 2 months after his RNY. He did pretty good but we were both sooo overweight that we honestly couldnt enjoy everything.
So this year I feel will be different. I can enjoy riding by myself and we can walk til we cant walk anymore and wont be weighed down by all the fat!!

So lets hear it...where ya'll going?

This might be TMI but if I could get the hair the grows on my chin to grow on top my head, I might have nothing to worry about!!  Don't count on the beard thinning.

Topic: RE: How much can you eat?
I think the quantity of what we eat still depends on what the food is.  for me, if I'm having cottage cheese for lunch which i often do, I can usually put down a cup and a half and I am full after that.  Now if I have something more dense like chicken, I can eat two chicken tenderloins and maybe a couple sticks of string cheese and I'm full.  I pay attention to my fullness trigger which is getting the hiccups.  when those start, I'm done.

I am right there with you!  I have really bad and painful arthritis in my knees oddly enough from all the exercising I did prior to surgery to lose weight on my own and now since I'm post op I lost almost all of my weight without exercise which is a BIG no no but I'm awaiting knee surgery and I'm dreading that because being laid up is not going to help me one bit.

you know, I had a full head of hair right before surgery NOW look at me!  LOL  just kidding :)  you know I never had an issue with losing my hair.......I thought if i were to lose hair, I would have lost my beard but it's just as thick as ever.  I wonder if it's different for men than it is for women?  I was bald at age 24 so I'm not an expert on post-op hairloss.  i know some of the ladies on the Maryland board swear by taking Biotin along with increasing their protein intake and that will slow it but they say that usually by this time or shortly after our 9 months that it will stop once we're in a normal food routine.
