Topic: RE: Seriously - can one person have this much gas?
But I am hoping that all of you will say it was worth it right? I mean really. Actually today I had very little gas because I think it is related to the fact that I forgot to take my multivitamin. Perhaps I need a different multivitamin?

Warm water seems to be the easiest with a little lemon. Don't know what it is but tap water is hard to go down. Could be the chemicals. Watch and see if you don't start tasting the chemicals in water and food now. Remember that though it is water we are just talking small sips. Seems like there isn't enough time in the day to drink all the water and get your protein in and not do it together. It gets easier.

I had it around the diaphram and yes it hurt but natural stomach gas and really stinky gas that isn't CO2 will be with you for a long time. That is related to the new stomach and bowl and how are food now digest. I'm telling you the smell is rotten and when you move your bowls for a long time it is like something has died.

Topic: RE: I got my cardiac clearance...Surgery on Monday at 6AM
When the cardiologist heard that my father died of a massive heart attack at 53, he decided that I needed to have a stress test within three weeks of my surgery. I had one about five years earlier and didn't do well. They ended up doing a nuclear stress test because I couldn't get my heart rate fast enough. This new doctor explained that I was on a beta-blocker before which prevented my heart rate from getting high. (I wish the first doctor explained that to me.) Anyways, I was all set for surgery except waiting for the stress test. I was quite nervous. It was a piece of cake. It's nice to know that something showed up and you got that extra cardiac workup. You are in a better place because of this. good luck, Jayne

Topic: 3 days post op - drinking water hurts
hi, I'm doing great - minimal pain, okay drinking broth, protein drinks seem to be going down okay. I'm having problems drinking water. I'm drinking it room temperature, but it just doesn't feel good going down and it feels uncomfortable in my pouch. I'm making some warm poemgranate green tea, hoping it will go down better. Any help? (((HUGS))) I haven't had the surgery yet, so I can only imagine how nervous you are! Just try and think positive and think of the cute clothes you are going to be able to wear (and your shopping trip when you hit goal!), how your health will improve, how much more energy you will have, and all the good things that will come from the surgery. I think you are totally normal in the way you are feeling right now and it's good to get all that anxiety out by crying and letting it go. My friend that had the RNY (back in march) said that she got some anti-anxiety drugs at the hospital when she got there and it helped calm her down a lot before she went in for the surgery. I think I will do the same and get those happy drugs! I've had two kids in the hospital and then my gallbladder out (abdominal surgery), so I have an idea of the recovery and what it'll be like. I think a lot of times with things, we make them out worse than they really are or will be. I'm sure you'll do fine! Don't worry about the issues during surgery like the tubes and such, you will be knocked out and won't even know they are there!! Good luck and just think positive!
