Topic: Help I am so bloated
I had my lap band in on the 14th of may. I was doing great but tonight day 6 I am so bloated. Could this still be gas from surgery or is it because I am on full liquids. Is this something I should worry about. I look like Im pregnant

Topic: RE: Lots of Questions!!
my instructions were to NOT life anything more than 5 lbs after surgery.....you are going to need HELP for the first several days.......my first five days were shall we say........painful!!! you will be able to shower, I have a g-tube so no baths or swimming until after its out and healed, don't know if you are going to have one. If you get up and start moving right after surgery, the gas pain moves out more quickly......walk walk walk!! good luck!!

Topic: Lots of Questions!!
I'm sooo lost! I've been here a few times here and there, but just can't figure out how to spruce up my profile, let alone find a picture for my profile! So...I have tons of questions on how to do my page...but I also have TONS of other questions!! My wls date is May 27th (7days!). How long before I'm able to actually move around and do stuff on my own? Hubby is thinking of taking the boys to see his folks....think I'll be able to stay home for 5 days on my own , 5 days after the surgery? How about a shower?? or will I be needing sponge baths? What is an angel? I've seen someone ask about one...but what is it?? Anyone around Valdosta Area?? I'll stop there for now...but PLEASE help!!!

Topic: RE: Got Surgery Date...becoming Scared now
Congrats on getting your surgery date! I think everyone goes through a phase of being scared, I know for a fact that I did anyway. I thought I wanted to cancel my surgery as it got ever so close, however I knew it was the best thing for me at this point in my life, 42 years old with a newborn, I want to be around as long as possible. I am only one week out (surgery 5/12/08) and have had nearly no pain, have lost 17 pounds. I am so glad I have done this at this point, but I have been lucky and not had any complications. Best wishes, take care and keep smiling. Larry

Topic: RE: Home from the Hospital....
Glad you are home. Two days post op, great!!!! I had rny on 05-05-08 and came home on 05-08-08, so not too bad, but I have pain in my left side that won't quite go away. Everyone tells me it needs to heal, but when I try to walk, I about double over. If I am not walking, not so much pain, but I know walking is important. Wanted to congratulate you, and wish you best of luck.

Hi Diana, I had my surgery on 5/5/08 and was scared as well...but once I got to the hospital, everyone was so supportive, telling me they were going to take good care of me...and they did. I now am 2 weeks out and have lost 15 lbs. I am feeling really good, tired, but good. Hang in there, this group is also very supportive....keep us posted!! DC

Topic: One More Day
Wow, one more day and I will have my surgery!!! A little anxious, but more excited. Of course that all could change once I am heading for the surgery room!!. But I am ready for this. No regrets. I know that this surgery will help me on my journey to being healthy and getting rid of my diabetes and high blood pressure. I have been excersing since Feb, so I have that part down. My husband is very supportive and so are my children and other family members and friends. I am so blessed. I have been trying to imagine how it will feel to be 100 pounds lighter, but I just can't imagine.(but I am anticipating the Wow moments!!!) I have been over weight since my joungest son was born 31 years ago. Well, I just wanted to share my thoughts. Will post once the surgery is done and I am home.

Hi Diana My surgery is on Wed the 21st. I am getting anxious, but also excited. It is normal to have doubts or worries before surgery. At least that is what I keep telling my self. But I know that the surgeon is excellent and my health is good. God is in control. So I keep my thoughts positive. You also need to try and keep your thoughts on the positive side, but also remember that having doubts and fears are normal. We will all get through this and be healthier for it. Rie ( surgery on May 21st.)

Hey Diana..I just got my insurance approved and I am waiting for a surgery date to be scheduled. Know what you mean! BUT-I know several people who have had this done and they tell me that the waiting was the hardest part. One of my friends is 6"2" and went from 500+++lbs to 250! He says he would do it all over again becuase it was so worth it! He got his life back. Concentrate on how great you are going to look in 6 months and dream about that!!!
