Topic: RE: Surgery was May 14th need help with meds
I had my surgery on May 5th and I have not had a probelm with any of my pills. Most of them are small but my Glucophage is pretty large and I just break it into 2 pieces and down it goes. The only one I have to open is my actigal, whcih tastes like hell, but I do it then eat my vitamins to get the taste out of my mouth. I take Lexapro too and it is small.

There is a chewable vitamin called Optisource and it has it all covered, you take 4 a day, it has the biotin and iron and I believe calcium. You can get it at Walgreens or at Optisource.com

Topic: RE: Protein?
Hi Tammy I use a protein shake mix, it is vanilla flavored, I add 2 cups very cold water, crystal lite, and 2 scoops of the protein. It changes the taste. Plain, I can not stand the taste, but with the crystal lite, it actually tastes pretty good. I get 52 grams of protein. Hope this helps.

Topic: RE: Obesity Law & Advocacy Center
Yes, my insurance plan had exclusions for weight loss surgery, & i was denied twice before I called the obesity law & advocacy center. They were such a big help. I would recommend getting in touch with them even if you have questions regarding insurance. They honeslty put there all into getting you approved. Go to their website www.obesitylaw&advocacycenter.com. I am getting my surgery tomm, without them id be lost.

Topic: Protein?
One more thing has anyone heard of a protein supplement called gury or something? I tried Isopure from GNC for the first time after surgery this morning and I can't take the taste. Weird I liked it before surgery. Thanks, Tammy

Topic: I'm so scared to be CUT UP!
Hi everyone, I just signed up so Im new at this. So im 19 years old, have never had any major surgery, and in just 8 days I'll be getting gastric bypass...I haven't had the chance to speak with anyone my age that went through this because, well I dont know anyone that has! But I went in to the hospital for all of my pre-op stuff today and I just got realllyy freaked out and scared. I know I'm making the right decision, and I never second guessed myself about it but I just got the jitters and can't stop thinking about the surgery. I can hardly sleep at night Im so nervous! My mother recently had the procedue done, so that makes the situation a lot easier, however I'm still unnerved. Any advice for me?
