Topic: soft food recipe - YUMMY!
hi, I found this recipe somewhere on another boards Mock Danish 2 oz cream cheese (soften in microwave) 1 egg 1 tblspn splenda 1 tsp lemon juice 1/2 tsp vanilla Mix softened cream cheese and egg. Add remaining ingredients. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes. I used low fat cream cheese. I wasn't sure how the fat free would do. I probably will try the fat-free next time.

Topic: RE: How are the May Surgery Ppl Doing?
I had my surgery May 1st and I am feeling back to myself. I got my final diet advancement today. Its the diet for life. I can start trying everything again. I lost 17 lbs then stalled for 2 1/2 weeks. I called the Dr and was told almost everyone has this happen its your body adjusting going into starvation mode then coming back out of it to start loosing again. My Dr. actually prefers his patient to loosed less than 20lbs the first month. It helps keeping it slow and steady and is better on your body and skin. We will all have stalls, and as frustrating as it is, it really is all part of the process. Just do what your told to the best of you ability and the weight will come off. In the last 5 days I have lost another 5 lbs so I'm back loosing. I got the Wii Fit and have been doing the begginer excersizes which is so much fun and I feel so much better now that I started moving more. Here are my stats so far... hope everyone is doing well.... Before program 332 lbs Day of Surgery 305lbs Today 283lbs Total loss -49lbs Since surgery -22lbs

I absolutely hate the bullets and the - I think it's called ... New Whey energy drinks - blah.... I use the EAS Advantedge carb control - chocolate. It's the only one I have tried so far that doesn't make me gag.

Hey there... I had my surgery May 1st. I lost 17lbs then stalled 2 weeks out for 2 1/2 weeks. I called my Dr and was told its what mostly everyone does. Your body goes into starvation mode about 2 weeks out and you stay steady or even gain before your body adjusts and starts to loose again. I just started loosing again and am down a total of 22lbs since surgery and 49lbs since January... I know stalls are frustrating, but you will have many. Its all part of the process unfortunatly... don't worry it will pass... oh and I too weigh myself everyday. I just try and do it at the same time everyday to get a more accurate reading...good luck...Lauren

Today is the one month anniversary of my RNY! I can't believe its only been a month. AFter that terrible first week and going back to the hospital with the infection I thought I'd never recover. But, I'm back at work and doing just fine. I've lost 34 pounds and can't believe how little I eat each day. I'm having problems staying hydrated and meeting the 60 gram protein requirement. I've never eaten 60 grams of protein in one day since my surgery. I just can't hold that much food in the course of a day. My follow up visit with surgeon is Wed - June 11. I'll be happy to see what he thinks about my progress. I'm curious though - is anyone else having problems eating for the first time of the day? The first food to hit my pouch really hurts, but after I finally nibble it down, I'm okay for the rest of day (unless I eat something stupid). Keep Smilin' Connie

Hi Steve! My surgery was 5/6 and I, too, have been weighting too often! I weighed 6 pounds more yesterday than the day before! I'm not weighing today - it is just too much pressure. I'm just attributing the gain to water retention - it was 98 degrees here yesterday and when its really hot my feet and legs swell a bit. Don't fret - as long as you're not eating more calories than you burn there's no way its actual "real weight gain". Good LUck!

Ok. My surgery date was 5/16..... I have been weighing myself daily...I know I am not supposed to, but I keep getting asked how much I lost. And when it was a pound and a half a day, it was exciting. I dropped 22 lbs in 2 weeks...then held steady this week... I didn't weight myself yesterday.....but today, I hopped on, and I am up 5 lbs! Any thoughts....I know I shouldn't be weighing myself as often.

My surgery was 5/12/08. Down 34 pounds since my surgery. Was only out of work for two weeks and returned to lobster fishing with no restrictions which was amazing to me since I am required to do alot of heavy lifting. Came off the liquid diet about a week ago, however, not having alot of success with that so far, I have found out that I get nauseated quite easily and dump nearly everytime I eat like an ounce of meat. However I am still not hungry so if I have to go back to having more protein drinks or cream of chicken soup I am cool with that. Hope everyone is doing well. Take care and keep smiling.....Larry

If I were in your shoes ( and I have been) I would call my surgeons office and get an appointment for a seminar, most of them explain everything. Shelia
