Topic: RE: Gall Bladder removal vs RNY
hi Steve,
Did she have her gallbladder removed laparoscopically? I had it done open with the eight inch scar many years ago and was out of work for six weeks. They cut three major muscle groups.
In that case it was so much worse that the RNY. My RNY was easy. On a scale of 1 to 10, I felt a three at the highest and only used the morpnine pump three times. I walked the halls a lot and never had the gas pains.

Well, I wasn't sure I could see the difference quite as much myself until I took my 1-month post op pics and put them side by side! It's a start that's for sure!!
To date I've lost 27# and 19 overall inches!!! I'd hit a stall for the last week and a half but I think that's over now!! Now if I can just get groovin' on exercise!
Check it out on my update profile....Let's see your 1-month pics!
Topic: RE: POST OP PAIN
I have good and bad days, today being kind of tough. But the pain is no longer a pulling feeling it is now just bad soreness. I am no longer taking the pain meds so I guess thats a good sign. But I am real eager to get back to work. Thanks and good luck!

You're welcome...I have been eating mostly LF cottage cheese and non fat yogurt which I think are slider foods.(?)...I need to graduate to other proteins such as chicken and fish..

Hi!
A stall around 3-4 weeks is pretty normal, your body goes into starvation mode and refuses to lose anymore...just ride it out and keep doin what you're doin and it will pass!
FYI, I lost 28 pounds in 20 days and then totally stalled for two weeks, I am just starting to see a little movement again!
Don't worry!

Debra,
I had surgery on May 14th and I have lost as of yesterday 31 pounds. When I hit the three weeks mark I slowed down as well. The support group I go to said that 3 week and 7 week and 3 months you will hit plateaus. So I expeced it. They did say push harder on exercise and it will help you get through it faster.Hope this helps.

Topic: RE: POST OP PAIN
Don't forget that most of the work done inside was done on the left side of your body! It has been a few days since you posted, how are you feeling now?
I was lucky and had very little post op pain once I was a few days out, but I did get random achy-ness on my left side every now and then for a couple more weeks.
