Topic: RE: May 16th Surgery!
Lap band surgery 5/21 and down 44 lbs. Guessing if I worked in that exercise piece it'd be a more attractive 44 lbs lost and maybe even more weight gone but still pretty happy nonetheless. It's been a long time since my scale went in the down direction!

Congratulations!!!! I know the exercise thing is the hardest part for most of us (after all, we're all here post surgery because we couldn't do it before hand) and it's great to hear you're having real results with your attempt!! I'm waiting on my wii and wii fit to arrive and then I'm sure i'll find that exercise bug i never had - i'd better for $500 or so! Good luck on your continued success!

Thanks for your reply. I went to see him on Monday and a cc of fluid was taken out - immediate relief! I could actually drink a cup of water without fear of it coming back into my nose Unfortunately (and I'm sure completely unrelated) I came down with a terrible kidney stone late Tuesday evening and went in for surgery on that just yesterday. I'm really hoping for a better second wk of my two wk vacation from work! Poor kids - I have been a lump on the couch thus far!

Topic: I'm here...Onderland...finally!!!
OMG I have finally made it to ONDERLAND!!!! I've been on a slow 2# weight loss each week for over a month and this week I finally dedicated myself to walking/jogging at least 3x a week. Of course I had to get sick right after I started so I only got in 2 workouts before I weighed in but I lost SIX POUNDS!!!!! YES! So that finally put me into Onderland which I've been lingering near and waiting patiently to float into for weeks! How are the rest of you May 5th'ers doing???

Topic: RE: vitamins?
I take WAY more regular vitamins than I care too!!!! I would love to be able to go back to my 3x per day chewables. I have to choke down the vitamins I have to take now....4 pills in the AM, 2 at lunch, 2 at dinner, 1 at bedtime consisting of a multi-vitamin, vit. d, b12, calcium, magnessium, and iron. Check what it is your program suggests and if you are getting sick on chewables tell them and see if you can't go to regular vitamins by now...2-months out you should be able to.

Topic: RE: 10 weeks post op-pain when eating solids
Hi Deb, Yep the rasin and spinach did it. I can't eat chicken or eggs or pasta of any kind, I can eat the topping off of pizza but not the crust LOL, It is really crazy what I can eat and what I can't. I can eat nachos and cheese and crackers, yogurt , tuna, baked or fried fish. I can eat cheese and crackers but cheese by itself makes me sick. I finally figured out that "slider foods" such as crackers and chips make things go down easier than they would otherwise. I know we aren't supposed to eat them but all things in moderation I guess. Also you may be eating too fast, try this. Take a small bite, chew, chew, chew and swallow it in increments. I was having the same problems as you are but when I started doing this it helped ALOT! Also get you some papaya enzymes and take them after you eat anything, I have found this helps me alot also. Wait 2-3 minutes between bites. I have also found that if I go too long without eating it's like my pouch goes into shock when I do finally eat. But it sounds like you are getting air trapped in your pouch when you eat instead of actually dumping. The only protien drink I can tolerate is Slimfast Lo carb, the rest of them make me dump in a big way. I can also tolerate Carnation instant breakfast in skim or 1% milk but that is a new developement LOL. Hang in there it really does get better! Shelia

Hey I was wondering if your getting all your fluids in. I know when I was dehydrated I got Kidney pain in the same spot... so keep your fluids up and maybe it will go away. Lauren

Yup regular vitamins for me now... I was getting sick off the chewables too and got the okay to take regular ones now...I don't even have to cut them in half. It also helpful to take them at night so your stomache doesn't get yucky... good luck. Lauren
