Thanks, yes lots of emotions. My main concern is to do my part correct, and not getting tired of the foods we will need to eat. At least till we can have "real food" again. Even then giving up sugar is going to be somewhat ruff, but it will be well worth it! We are all going to have to learn new ways to cook. Maybe we can all share recipes as we discover new favorites. Hi Debra! I'm pretty much a newbie....my RNY was 2/26/08. I know you have got to be experiencing a whole array of emotions right about now. You're only a few days away from surgery. I can tell you my journey so far has been incredible. Everyone here on OH has been so helpful and most people don't even know it. Just reading the posts everyday helps me incredibly! I wish you all the best. I look forward to getting to know you and experiencing this journey with you. Praying for you!

Yes it is hard to believe it is that close finely. I Had to wait two years to win my disability (back injury) so i would have insurance. The rest has gone quick after i found a doctor. I am having open RNY. I wanted the duodenal switch, but he does not feel it is a good choice for me. How about you? How long have you been waiting? What kind of surgery for you? How do you feel about after the surgery? I am glad you wrote me. I look forward to your answers. Deb

Hi Debra, you are exactly 1 week ahead of me. I'm not scared just VERY anxious to get this over and done with. Have you told many people. I haven't told that many. I guess I really want to see if anyone will notice and how they will react. Sending you good luck for next week Monday. Debbi

Yes, I have the same date. That's good that you do have someone to care for your kids when you have the surgery. Christi, listen, NOW is the time for YOU to do SOMETHING for YOURSELF!!! It will all benefit you and the kids in the long run. Don't worry, they have experience. Your kids might enjoy themselves. You just need to relax and get well enough to leave the hospital with a whole new look on your beautiful life that is ahead of you. Please keep in touch. I REALLY would like to know how you did after the surgery. We'll compare notes, complain a little (o.k. maybe a lot) and we can "heal" each other. Good luck! Debbi

im right there with you almost the exact same weight and worries im 37 i have 4 kids 18,14, twins that are 8 . im scared i will die and there will be no one to care for them . i also have had family have wls no problems my mom and 2 sisters ,,, doesnt stop me from freaking out though . i want to live to see my littles grow up get married have babies and i know this is the only way

you have the same date? i think i have the kids taken care of between my sisters neices and my mom is taking that week off work . i feel over whelmed in a way im the mom that takes care of everyone hard to get everything ready , how will they manage without me lol my mom and 2 sisters have all had wls . so hopefully they will step up

I am having my surgery on May 5th too. Can you believe it is Monday? How long have you been working towards this? What surgery are you having?

I know what you mean about the liquid diet, I have been on protein 3 times a day for the past 2 weeks , and now I have been on clear liquids for 2 days, well yesterday and today. Then I can not have anything , no****er or anything starting tomorrow at 9am my surgery is at 1:00pm. So good luck with the protein and the knee. I will try to get back on here at give you some support after my surgery and before yours. Hopefully! Vic****ep the focus!!
