Good luck to all of us!! I am on the 5th also. I was very nervous last week but for some reason I have calmed down. Not really sure why, but am grateful!! I am getting excited and really looking forward to see all of our results. Best wises to all!!

Hi Debra - My surgery is May 5th also. I am having lap band procedure done. I had my series of post op appointments done today. I was in appointments for 8 hours today. Time is getting closer but I am suprisingly not nervous. Good luck to everyone with an upcoming surgery date.

In case you haven't found it yet, listed below is the link to all of the May 2008 surgeries. Please make contact with several people and let them know that this special "May 2008 Surgery Date" board exists. You will make many friends on this board that you may never meet, but you will have a special bond. We have a very close group over on the May 2007 board.
Here it is....on the eve of May 1st. It hardly seems possible that almost one year has passed since my surgery. You all have so much to look forward to and many great things ahead.

Topic: Vertical Sleeve Surgery! Got my date May 23rd
I saw the surgeon and he made another appt to see me back in a month - He didn't think the insurance company would approve the sleeve and he wanted me to check in with others to get some info back. Then wham I get a call and they schedule the surgery and everything is majorly rolling. I've got appts pre op junk in the next week and then I'm ready to go...I think, gulp! I'm ready and reading everyone's great success has been really inspirational. Hearing folks question this and seem both excited and nervous seems right in line with what I think everyone goes through. I hope I do as well as the great weight loses I've been reading about! You guys are awesome!

Hello Donna, not May 19th but May 5th which is 5 days. Am I nervous? Yes....am from Missouri, having it done at the University of MO-Columbia, roue-n-y gastric bypass. I am sure you will find someone having it on the 19th if you hang in there. I really like this website, and have been very glad to talk with people. Good luck.

Hey there, Debra.....my surgery is also May 5, 2008. I am sick of this two week liquid diet, and am trying to find some calcium citrate citracal creamy bites, but can't. I am scared, but getting less nervous as the closer I get. Good luck to you, and I will say a prayer for you on Monday, I would appreciate it if you would do the same. Keep in touch, and let me know how things are going.

Ok....I am sick to death of the powdered calcium citrate that I put in my protein drinks. I am almost to the end of my 2 wk liquid diet, what a horrible time, and I would like to find the creamy bites which have been discontinued, of course. Anybody know anywhere I can find them? I am in Missouri, and there is no place I have found that has any. Any ideas?

You'll do fine. With the support of everyone here at OH you can find answers anytime day or night. There are sooo many suggestions that folks offer, it's pretty cool. Recipe ideas and suggestions are obtainable as well. As far as the sugar thing...you'll just have to find alternatives that you like that will fit in the nutritious category. It's weird but your taste buds change too. At least mine did so far....I haven't had a problem with staying away from sweets and sugar like I thought I could. Sharing ideas on what each of us are eating and what works well/digests well are helpful. Stay in touch. I'll help however I can. Best Wishes
