That sucks!! I wouldn't be worrie about your vacation, if everything goes normal you won't be in the hospital more than one or two nights, and then they want you to resume your normal active life, just not driving, and not lifting more than 20 pounds, so you can go on vacation. I'm on my 3rd week post surgery and the first week is easy, you are not hungry at all. just make sure you take your proteins with you and follow the instructions and you should be fine. Something similar happened to me, it wasn't the nurse, it was me, I supposed to stop my daily aspirin 14 day before the surgery and I didn't because I didn't read the papers they sent me, they also told me that they will pospone my surgery but the doctor said it was ok, so in your case it might happen the same. I think they give you some time frame just to be sure, but a lot of people make mistakes. Don't get stress. Good luck and let us know Christina

OOH yeah!!!!! So have you done anything to prepare yourself?? Are u nervous?? I'm not nervous about the process, I'm nervous about the surgery. . . I have this big major fear in my brain that i"ll go to sleep and not wake up. Crazy I know, but that's my biggest fear with this surgery. What about u??

Hi Kristy, I wanted to tell you what my WLS group told me when I said "Should I be doing this" they said "ABSOLUTELY" and to "Push the thought right out of your head" . . . now I haven't had surgery yet, but this is coming from ppl who have been there and done that. I wanted to tell you that your story sounds similar to mine. I've had a recurrent sinus infection for a year now and I'm actually waiting to have septoplasty done the end of May to fix the problem, but I've been on antibiotics now for 2 weeks. The Dr's are wanting to ensure I won't have any infection present the day of the surgery and I tell you i have had those thoughts more than once.. should I be doing this stuff. Now, that I"m so close I think YES I have waited long enough to have this surgery and come rain or shine I'll be there May 7th to have it done lol. Just hang in there this part is almost over. I'm not sure what type of diet restriction ur on, but I've been doing soups and pushing the water for the past week and I have to say my body has went WHOA what are u doing dude?!! I had diarrhea something terrible and that has finally subsided, but other than that my body has started to adjust. I'm sorry you were in the ER w/ dehydration and I know how bad you must be feeling from that. I just wanted to say hang in there. Lots of love. kelly
