Topic: RE: knee Injury Prior to surgery
Oh NO!!! It sounds to me like you may have torn your meniscus. I was jogging last year (attempting to exercise) and over did it and went down on the pavement pretty hard. I wound up having surgery last year to scope out the scar tissue and repair the meniscus in my knee. It wasn't a bad surgery and I was forced to heal quicker than I was supposed too. I was up walking around on it a few days post op and I was limping for about 3 weeks after the surgery. It hurts and I won't lie, but my knee now feels 100 times more better than it did. If your MRI confirms the tore cartilage don't freak out because to date i"ve had both of my knee's scoped and their perfect now.

Jackie,
I wanted to tell you what you wrote brought me to tears. I'm crying right now. UGh.. I can visualize my family and I'm so thankful for them supporting me through all this. I love them all so much the pain of never waking up to see my kids again almost kills me, but I KNOW this is something I have to do or they're going to lose me to something a lot more devastating like a heart attack. I guess my love for others and not myself is the driving force behind my fear. . . correct that I know its the driving force behind my fear.
I feel we'll both make it through this just fine and we'll be laughing about our new journey very shortly.
ACK I'm still crying.. Lord my emotions are on a one way roller coaster going 300mph lol.
Lots of love

The fear of not waking up is also normal, right along with all the rest of the emotions the MAY FOLKS are feeling. i am scheduled for May 12. I am a believer that our attitudes determine our outcomes. I have used mental imaging and relaxation techniques during the stressing times. Can you picture yourself waking up and hearing your loved ones telling you that the surgery is over--maybe it is the voice of someone in the recovery room first--then your loved one. I also remind myself that once we wake up recover has already begun and weight lose and our new life is before us. Lets go to the center and visualize the positive and practice the new life we are about to receive.....just a suggestion....it may help with the fear...worth a try.

Debbi,
LoL yeah, I kinda sorta over did it with my "last" thing lol. Speaking about wearing your clothes tight listen to this. LOL LOL I laugh at myself its so funny.
A few months ago I was put on steroids for pneumonia. WE ALL know how bad steriods are for somebody who's already "big"(I don't like obese the word is offensive so we shall refrain from using it LOL) well being the tight wad I am I REFUSE to buy bigger clothes.. (ah HEM DENIAL) so I swore I could wedge my big butt into my size ?? (we'll play guess the number later) jeans. Well nothing was working.. the military crawl the squirming the going to the edge of hyperventilation to get them up. SO I got the big bright idea to get the pliers and grab the zipper with it. What I"ve discovered is EVERYTHING seems like a GOOD idea at the time, its the after thought that gets ya. Anyway, I run back into my bedroom determined to get these jeans on. My kids are all banging at the door wanting to know why I had got "daddy's tools" well I was in the bedroom lay down on the bed and grabbed the pliers with one hand and proceeded to suck in as much as I could with the next. WELL what do u know I got them up. When I rolled (bc I couldn't bend) off the bed and went to stand up.. I ripped the WHOLE zipper loose from my jeans.. .. .. NOW tell me if that isn't a first in splittin ur pants?!!!
Hey normally I rip 'em out from the bumholey-o but this was DEF a first for me!!
