I'm not familiar with BCBS, I have Medicare so unfortunately I can't help.. I just wanted to say hang in there.. it's been a very long process for me to get a surgery date. Don't give up and get down on yourself.. Keep on keeping on girl! I'll keep you in my prayers and best wishes for you!

Hi there! Sorry I was unable to open the link to myspace but I'm sorry that you guys are having so much difficulty. Personally, I've found that it's difficult to get an approval for weight loss surgery depending on your insurance coverage. I tried for 3 years off and on to get an insurance approval through United Healthcare but was eventually turned down. There was a provision in my policy that excluded bariatric surgery. I'm now on disability and have Medicare and have had no problems with them because they don't pre-approve surgery like most insurance companies. If you haven't already, I would start with the insurance company and see if they do in fact cover weight loss surgery. Also, most surgeons have someone in the office who handles the insurance portion... you could also try there and see if maybe someone has just simply dropped the ball at the Dr.'s office. I'm from Alabama, so ofcourse I'm not familiar with your surgeon etc.. Just hang in there with your mom and I will pray for her that things will look up. God bless you too for trying so hard to help your mom better her life. She's very lucky to have such a great support system.. which is VERY important when going through this. HUGS!!!

Aww.. I think of it the same way, May 27th will be my new birthday. It's the beginning of a new life, a better quality of life and I'm sure you know... the weight will keep dropping and dropping. Sorry to hear that you are in pain but thats the price we have to pay unfortunately... I wish you a speedy recovery and that you will be feeling much better soon. It's great to hear someone say only days after surgery that they do not regret their decision! It makes me not as anxious about the "aftermath" of gastric bypass. Well, you will be in my prayers and congrats to you on the beginning of a new life! I will be having surgery May 27th so hopefully things will go well for me too. HUGSSS!!!
