Topic: RE: May 12th is my new birthday
Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to You. Happy Birthday dear, Stephan, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!! Mine is on the 12th also. I only have to go on an all liquid diet the day before. Do you know what time you have to go in? I have to call on Friday to find out what time mine is. Man, I can't believe I'm saying Friday. Not 2 months from now, not, next year BUT FRIDAY to call for my operation time. I can't believe it is literally around the corner. Good luck!!! Let us know how you did. Debbi
Topic: RE: My date is May 12th
Hi Carol, mine is also May 12th. I CAN'T WAIT!!!! Are you excited or nervous? I'm excited. The nerves haven't kicked in yet. I'm more nervous about getting my house up to snuff before I leave than anything else. How long did your doc. say you were going to be in the hospital? Do you know what time yours is yet? I have to call on Friday to get a time. Debbi
Topic: RE: Pre-surgery Jitters
My surgery is on the 12th...and I try and remind myself that it has been a journey of many emotions and thoughts getting to this point and it sounds like you are anticipating what the journey ahead will be like. We read the board messages, we talk to others, we listen to our surgeon and team supporters, and then we have time to sit with ourselves and all the questions and thoughts come flooding in. WE do not know what it will be like FOR US/ME! That's the tricky part. It certainly is normal to have all the feelings and to be all over the spectrum--this is a life changing event for us and no one more than we know that and yet we haven't experienced the full impact yet....................so...........what do we do in the meantime................i try and keep busy............and I focus on the reasons I made the decision to go through the surgery and I try and picture my life a year from now....plus I remind myself that when I wake up from the surgery the recover has already begun and I am already getting thinner and healthier.........................blessings

Topic: RE: insurance problems
hi Lana,
You should post this on the Insurance Help Forum. Also on the main page of that forum, you can search insurance companies by state. I went to Illinois and found BC/BS IL. There are several listings of people who had similar problems. Some of them succeeded. Read these and contact the successful members. There is also a WLS grad who is a lawyer who hangs out on that forum. He may be able to point you in the right direction.
Good luck,
Jayne
Topic: Anyone not have to liquid diet pre-op??
I am just curious as I know several ppl that had the surgery 3yrs. ago, both open and laprascopic, and they never had to do this liquid diet. I know that surgeon's learn new and better ways to do this surgery as time goes on and they do more and why we are doing it (to shrink the liver)...but I'm wondering who out there doesn't have to do this except fore maybe a day or two before surgery?
