Well, its been three months tomorrrow since surgery and I can say I am finally coming around. I am eating fish only tilapia and orange roughy (salmon ended up making me sick). I can eat eggs, cheese, cottage cheese and black beans and lentils. Thats it. I am still not getting all my protein in but I am working on it. Trying to work on getting 60 grams a day in. I get very sick if I take the whole protein shake I think its the sweetness. I am down to a size 18 from a size 24 and have gone from 287 pounds to 218 pounds Maybe tomorrow I will have hit my 70 pound mark with that one pound . It came off very fast but I have a long way to go. My arms and stomach are my concern I have a lot of loose skin already I can only imagine what it will look like when all my weight is off.I am only going to concentrate on the positive right now and worry about that later on when there is something I can do about it. How is everyone else doing?

I'll be at my 3 month mark on 8/20... down 73lbs and not really having any food problems just a gassy tummy with anything milkbased. Down from a 28 to a 22 and I too am worried about the deflating tummy, arms and inner thighs... it's ok though...

My 3 mo. mark was Aug.5th....I seem to be on the same page as you...Tilapia so far is THEE only fish I've been able to eat. I can't tolerate ANY type of meat!! I'm down from 240 to 175....that's at least a little comfort, lol. I live on SF ice pops, 1/2 yogurt a day, and Unjury soup. Go to their web site, Unjury.com and order samples. The soup sits well and is not as bad as plain broths. I bought new pants this week that are a SIZE 16!!!! Not sure I've seen those numbers since I turned 16...heehee...keep up the good work, and don't fret about the extra skin yet. Get the weight off and worry about that at the next stage. Blessings to you and yours!

My 3 month is the 20th. I am down 59 pounds. I also had to go back in at 1 month out and have hernia surgery so that put me behind a couple of weeks.

Well my 3 months was today and I have lost total of 61 pounds and 49 post-op. From 243 to 182 and feeling good about it went from a size 18-20 to a 15-16 or some 13-14 and loving it.  Protein is terrible for me I am trying the atkins protein bars that have 17 grams of protein and cant eat eggs I can eat cheese and beans, seafood is ok .

I had surgery on 5/5/08 and I have lost 68#. I am so blessed (I think) :) that I can tolerate anything so far. All meats sit well...salads,fruits,nuts. I have not eaten any fried foods or sugar of any kind. I try really hard to follow the guidlines set by my NUT and surgeon......I still measure/weigh and read labels like crazy. I like to cook and have had fun trying new healthy recipes.
I have lots of skin too.....I look like a raisin on my tummy, but that's better than a grape, right??
Everyone is doing so great! It's fun and inspiring to read so many success stroies.

Hello friends, I had my RNY on 5-12-08 and am down 75 pounds. Although I have been stalled for almost 2 weeks which is kind of bumming me out. Feeling great but still get sick more than i would like. If I stick to my protein icecream (my lifeline) protein bars, cheese, yogurt and tilapia I am good. Still cant do meat, veggies shellfish. Have gotten sick from all of these items. Gone from a size 28/30 to an 18/20. Also getting worried about my saggy upper arms, thighs and boobs! Really want to have a drink but kind of nervous. Anyone tried some wine?
Congrats to all and keep going!

Deb - yes I have tried alcohol...even wine. Once it didn't affect me as I drank pretty slowly but the last time I did get sick, I think from the wine but honestly I'm not sure. I have had beer, rum & diet coke -both tolerated fine but I can't drink much at all before I'm tipsy. To me that's the only real difference. But I was a lightweight before surgery.

Sorry to hear you are still getting sick off "real" proteins. Hamburger doesn't sit well with me but I've been quite fortunate eating just about anything in moderation and slowly. Noodles, veggies, meats, fish, potatoes, rice, etc. Even really thin crust pizza but like 1-pc. versa my old 7.

Hang in there...the stall will be over

Hi everyone. I think I am the only VSGr who has responded but I had my VSG on 5/15/08 and have lost  61 lbs since the surgery date. In total since my highest last year of 345 I have lost 107 lbs.

I can eat anything I want but when I overdo it I get sick. I am forced to eat in moderation :-) which I like very much. I need to watch the chocolate for sure. :-)

My diabetes is gone though. My blood pressure is much lower though I still take one pill. I love my salads, healthy fats, mineral salts, and green drink!

My Doc said my weight loss was right up there with the RNY. I am pretty happy right now :-).
