Band too tight?

Since my surgery date of 5/21 (lap band) I've been successful with 36 lbs lost but felt as if I was able to eat more then I was 'supposed to'. Even after my first fill I was still able to eat more then I thought I should and it was more me controlling portions then my stomach. I has my second fill on Friday taking the band cc's up to 6. Since about an hour after the fill I've had great pains while drinking water even in small sips and eating has been the most horrible thing I've ever experienced - in 2.5 days I've had 1/2 of an egg white, two bites of spaghetti chewed to mush and a french fry (i know) but each of those caused pain, dry heaving and a sensation which left me feeling unable to speak clearly and standing over the sink praying to vomit. Is this what everyone else felt since the surgery and I'm just now catching up? Is this how it's supposed to be or do I need to have some fluid taken out today? I didn't want to bother the dr over the weekend and feel kind of silly asking for an reduction adjustment since I was the one pushing them to be aggressive in filling it. Thanks in advance for your input!

Tamara, I did not have lap band but RNY but I've known other that did...and I've heard this scenerio before and I would suggest you BOTHER YOUR DOCTOR - ASAP!!!! That is what he/she and his/her staff are there for! Could be the band is too tight for right now? And even with RNY I too feel like there are times I am able to eat way too much or the wrong kind of food, etc. But if we just pay close attention the tool will not fail us and we are still eating much less than before surgery. I hope all is well today and PLEASE call your doctor and let us know what happens!

Thanks for your reply. I went to see him on Monday and a cc of fluid was taken out - immediate relief! I could actually drink a cup of water without fear of it coming back into my nose Unfortunately (and I'm sure completely unrelated) I came down with a terrible kidney stone late Tuesday evening and went in for surgery on that just yesterday. I'm really hoping for a better second wk of my two wk vacation from work! Poor kids - I have been a lump on the couch thus far!
