What does a typical meal look like for those of you who are losing. I have not had any feels and I am hungary all the time. I need a lot of help!

I don't know what you should be eating, since you are banded and I'm not, but I know for RNY'ers the first thing we're usually asked when we say we're hungry is "Are you getting all your protein in?" If you are short on protein you tend to feel hungrier faster. Just a thought?

Hi~ Didnt the Drs give you an eating plan? You should be in liquids for 2 weeks after surgery...strained soup as in Cream of chicken..all low fat, no sugars....jello, water, protein powder....things like that! Did you have support group meetings? I had surgery May 21st, and have lost 15 pounds,...do you walk?

I had my surgery on May 30 and actually feel like I have gained weight. On week 2 after my surgery I was on pureed soups, instant mashed potatoes, etc. I felt so bloated and still kind of do. I don't get my first fill until July 10. I was interested to see if anyone else was struggling.

Hi Lisa, I also had lap band surgery, mine was on June 30. I've been on puree for a week and a half and I'm starving!!! The nutrionist at my practice said that we should just be concerned with letting our stomachs heal and not worry about the weigt loss until our fills. I have also been pusing the limits on food. I was down about 10 lbs but by the time i get a fill July 8th I will have gained back all the weight I've lost since the pre-op liquids. So, I can definitely sympathize I to am really struggling.

Thanks so much for your response. It helps to know that the things we go through are normal when we are able to share with other lap-band patients. My doctor said the same thing your nutritionist said, not to worry about the weight loss until after the fills. It is just that we have worked so hard to get here and people look at you differently after they know that you have had the surgery that we want to show a loss and not feel like a failure. Please keep in contact and let me know how the fill affects your weight loss. Best of luck to you! I am rooting for you! Lisa

I had my surgery on May 7th and to date I have only lost about 10lbs. I lost 10lbs the first week on the liquid diet but gained it back once I moved to solid foods. But after my first fill in June I lost another 10lbs didnt gain that back but havent lost anything since. To be honest last month I was eating alot of fast food and not going to the gym. I didnt gain anything but I didnt loose anything either. Hopefully now that I have had a second fill and am back to working on my diet and going to they gym I will loose again. What helped me when I was loosing is eating more meat (protein) and less white foods (potatoes, rice, breads) and having veggies as a side instead and I went to the gym at least three times a week. When I did snack it was on sugar free stuff (popsicles, jello, pudding) and fruits but I tried not to snack inbetween meals
