Hair Loss with RNY
I am scheduled to have surgery on June 19th and, I know this is really vain, but is hair loss a sure thing or can I do anything to prevent it. Those that I have talked to that had it said that they had trouble getting their protien in at first and once that was adjusted the hair loss went away. Just curious what everyone else experienced.
Some folks take Bioten and strongly believe it is protein related. Honestly for some of us it matters not becuase if your going to lose it you will lose it no matter how much protein or Bioten you take. It really has alot to do with having major surger and the stress of it on your body. There are a small few that do not have this problem. It usually starts around 3 months out or later and last for quite a few months, 3 or 4. If you notice alot of the profiles of folks from last year say, alot of us started out with long hair and ended up with cute short sexy cuts. Not only does it make us look younger, it makes dealing with thinning hair easier to maintain and clean up after. I felt like a had a shaggy sheep dog living in my home, car and work place. There was hair everywhere. It was gross. There are still remnents in my back seat of my car. But don't worry because it all comes back!!!
