I have heard some people saying they had their bands removed after childbirth and went for the full gastric bypass surgery... is it not possible to get or become pregnant after having the bypass surgery? Will it cause complications in the long run? Any thoughts or answers would be greatly appricated

Yes it is possible, though they want you to wait at least a year or more out. It all has to do with vitamins and nutrition. When you get pregant for the sake of the baby your nutrition has to be monitored. Remember with bypass your large intestine is by passed and your obsorbtion of much needed vitamins, minerals and such is also cut and the baby will need all it can get. Think of the babies born to malnurished mothers in 3rd world countries. Health issue for the mother and the baby is the concern if you don't follow the rules with nutrision and vitamins. Alot of us get farther on out and slack up in this area but what we don't realize is the hidden damage we are doing to our bodies by not taking the vitamins and suppliments we need now to keep from doing the damage. To answer your question....if you follow your doctors advice you can have a healthy baby and pregancy after bypass.
