Are there any protien shakes tht actually taste good? i am doing premir nutrition chocolate shakes and they have a bad after taste. I also am doing unjury, but it makes my crystal light taste like...i dont know what but it isnt good and the unjury is "unflavored". any suggestions?

Hey Paula, I know what you mean about the protein supplements, I've had a hard time finding some that I like or that won't argue with my pouch. Slim Fast Lo Carb tastes good and has 20 G of protein per 11 oz can and only 180 calories. I suggest instead of drinking Crystal light you switch to the Special K Protein water, it has 5 G of protein per bottle or drink mix and only 25 calories, every little bit helps. Mix your protein Supplements with fat free milk 8 oz of milk adds 8 more grams of Protein. Carnation instand breakfast Sugar free is another good option it has 5 G of Protein, add that to a cup of FF milk and you have a 14 G protein drink. These are the things I have been doing, hope it helps. Also don't try and get all your protein in at one sitting we can only absorb so much so spread it out over your day. Best of Luck, Shelia

I use GNC Whey Isolate 28 (vanilla flavor) mixed with 8 oz 1% milk (or you can use skim) and about a cup of frozen strawberries in the blender for breakfast daily. This will give you 37 grams of protein. I get bags of the frozen berries at the market, and have also used the mixed berry blends. I put a little splenda in as well, but it's not necessary. This tastes great, and makes it much easier to get the remaining protein in later in the day. Might be boring, but it sure is effective! For snacks, I like the lowfat string cheese sticks, which have 7 grams of protein in each one. Good Luck!

I'm a big fan of Syntrax Nectar which comes in various flavours but I like the fuzzy navel and the roadside lemonade. Mixes easily and is very doable. Can't find any around Sacramento so I order it on drugstore.com or A1 nutrition. You might want to try it.

Lean Desserts has some great protein and so does Whey Gourmet. I personally use Whey Gourmet and Extreme Smoothie (RTD)

hi Paula, I use the vanilla, chicken broth and unflavored Unjury powders. I use the vanilla and unflavored wih skim milk, adding splenda to the unflavored. I often add strwberries and mix them in the blender, sometimes with a few ice cubes. I also like Syntrax's Mectar Cappuccino. I heat skim milk and add the protein powder. I feel as if I am drinking a latte. Jayne

Being a year out now I thought I would respond to this as Protein was a challenge at first to me. But I found Achievone www.achieveone.com. There is a store locator on that site and if you are lucky you will find one close to you that has them My favorite is Mocha Java and you can get them at www.bariatriceating.com. In fact this is a good webiste where you can get samples of different proteins or there is a sampler pack you can get. Better than wasting money on all those proteins that just sit there. Some of the other things I came up with.....one scoop vanilla powder (I just by the big container at walmart), 0ne half light yogurt of some berry or peach flavor (30z) 3 to 6 oz mild, and some frozen strawberries one scoop vanilla, one pack SF carnation instant breakfast, 6-8oz milk and ice. Sometimes I put in half a banana at a support group it was suggested a powdered peanut butter from www.bellplantation.com. This is really yummy! I add this to the vanilla powder to give it a more nutty taste that I was craving when on the pureed stage after surgery. Hope this helps! Donna
