Frank, Everyone is different but 3 days post op Lap RNY I was push mowing the yard ( don't tell my surgeon though) LOL. What I did as soon as I was awake enough from the anesthesia was to get out of bed and walk. I walked until I was tired and then rested and did it again. I am 10 days post op and except for lifting anything over 40 pounds and riding horses I am doin anything I want to. My dr's rule is if it hurts don't do it. I was really active before the surgery so I just didn't slow down much. I haven't gone back to work yet but that is by choice, not because I couldn't if I wanted to. Best of Luck, Shelia

I am three weeks out today. I came back to work in the medical field in a week but could have used one more week. It is possible but it is a little hard because you have to time everything to get all the water and protein in as the day goes by. I hope this helps.

Hi Frank you are going to be fine. I am 3 weeks po and it is getting easier everyday. I stayed 4 days in the hospital because I had previous stomach surgery so my surgery was a little more complicated. Just make sure to drink all you can I was readmitted one week later for dehydrayded. SOOOO make sure to drink even when you are not thirsty. It is very easy to get dehydrated.
