I'm sooo lost! I've been here a few times here and there, but just can't figure out how to spruce up my profile, let alone find a picture for my profile! So...I have tons of questions on how to do my page...but I also have TONS of other questions!! My wls date is May 27th (7days!). How long before I'm able to actually move around and do stuff on my own? Hubby is thinking of taking the boys to see his folks....think I'll be able to stay home for 5 days on my own , 5 days after the surgery? How about a shower?? or will I be needing sponge baths? What is an angel? I've seen someone ask about one...but what is it?? Anyone around Valdosta Area?? I'll stop there for now...but PLEASE help!!!

my instructions were to NOT life anything more than 5 lbs after surgery.....you are going to need HELP for the first several days.......my first five days were shall we say........painful!!! you will be able to shower, I have a g-tube so no baths or swimming until after its out and healed, don't know if you are going to have one. If you get up and start moving right after surgery, the gas pain moves out more quickly......walk walk walk!! good luck!!

Maybe I wasn't too clear, but he'll be home the first 5 days....possibly leaving after that. It's not "just a trip" there are a few cirmumstances as to why he needs to go see his family.

Hi, I don't know what your starting weight is but I don't suggest being alone for the first five days. I really needed someone to comfort me and hep me get my shakes etc. Also, the best thing to do is walk walk walk. It was 100 degrees here in LA all week so I have literally been doing laps around my not so big house. I set a kitchen timer to go off every hour and then did 10 laps. That was the onl thing that helped move the gas through. Good luck!

I will have my hubby and friend here to help the first 5 days, and friends close by who will stop in... As far as walking, we purchased a tred mill for that very purpose of walking as soon as I'm able to. I will more than likely do short walks...like to the mailbox, around the yard, etc.... Thanks for the reply!

Hi Carol, I also don't know how to up load my picture -still trying to see what an Angel is, also have lots of questions and have the same date as you May 27th. i've started to think of it as my own "independence day" as I will be liberated! you will need someone with you for the first few days and maybe a freindly neighbor or girl friend to check in with you after that. I have several friends that have had the MGB. THey are all in different stages. 2 have celebrated their 1 year anniversary and look & feel fantastic. The other 2 are 3 & 2 months our and are doing great. They all say the same thing -WALK. WE can do this in the buddy system you and I.

Hey guys, I am pretty new myself, so I'll let the experts who have already had surgery answer some of your questions. What I can tell you is how to upload your pic or avatar! you go to your profile, under your profile name click customize you profile, then when your profile control panel pops up, click change my avatar, then hit the browse button & it will bring up your pictures folder from your computer & you pick the picture you want & hit the save button & there you have it. Hope that helps. Fab

I also have lots of questions and the same surgery date. My dr. said I will be in the hospital overnight. I will be on my own when I get home except for my daughter (13). How long before I can drive? I'm expected back at work on the 2nd. Oh, I'm having lap band.
