OMG, Christi I don't know what I would have done if they had done that to me. I am so sorry that you had to go through that. I hope you have someone to help you get through this set back. Everyone has second and third thoughts (and more) going into surgery, at least I know I did. Even after the surgery, I was having second thoughts. My prayers are with you. Please do not let this get you down. Take care, Di

I am a firm believer in "things happen for a reason" Don't think of this as a set back. Think how set back you really would have been had your lungs collapsed during surgery or worse. You were blessed not set back. Keep positive. Two weeks is nothing. Treat yourself to one last favorite meal. LOL.

I can't imagine how you felt, Im sure you are very disappointed. But I think it is better to be safe than sorry. The only bad thing is you would think the anethesiolgist would have looked at your records ahead of time.

that's good they had you wait. My Mom went in 5 yrs ago to have RNY and had a small cold going into surgery. After she had surgery, it turned into pneumonia and all sorts of complications. She had a collapsed lung and had to be on a feeding tube, just some of the crap she had to go through. She racked up tons of money in hospital and doctor bills (she was self pay) and was in and out of the hospital and dr's office for 6 months! She literally almost died from complications and she looked awful when I finally did see her. I lived 7 hrs away and as soon as I heard she was sick, I drove right down to see her and she looked horrible. I don't think she told the doctor she was sick pre-op and she had to fly from UT to NC, so I think she didn't want to cancel her flight and surgery because of a little cold. Little did she know that doing that would really jeopardize her health post op! Just be glad the doctors are watching out for your health and rescheduled it! GL! Christie
