I got my cardiac clearance...Surgery on Monday at 6AM
When the cardiologist heard that my father died of a massive heart attack at 53, he decided that I needed to have a stress test within three weeks of my surgery. I had one about five years earlier and didn't do well. They ended up doing a nuclear stress test because I couldn't get my heart rate fast enough. This new doctor explained that I was on a beta-blocker before which prevented my heart rate from getting high. (I wish the first doctor explained that to me.) Anyways, I was all set for surgery except waiting for the stress test. I was quite nervous. It was a piece of cake.
It's nice to know that something showed up and you got that extra cardiac workup. You are in a better place because of this.
good luck,
Jayne
