May 5, 2008 RNY Lapro

Hiya Cathy! I had RNY Lapro May 6th...how's it going?

Hey there.....My name is Pam, and I was checking out the website, I had rny on 05-05-08 and went back yesterday 05-14-08 for my followup. Had all the hardware removed (drainage tube and staples), and actually thought I was fine until this morning. I have such a pain in my side, left side, below where the drain tube was and all along my lower belly. I am wondering what the heck this is? Thought I could walk it off, so have been walking more (within reason), but boy it hurts!!!! If I sneeze heaven help me, when I get up from the toilet it really strains it. Just sitting here strains it too. Do you have any pain like this? I though maybe it was because the staples were removed, and the incision below the drain tube was a hard one as it was in the natural fold of my stomach. Any ideas?

I had the same problem only 5 days out from ryn and it turned ou to be a kidney stone. They say their pretty common with this surgery. They also say to drink your water and I do try to do that because that was painful. Della
