So it was pointed out to me by my brother last night that my breath smells like "moldy a#&" to quote him directly. I know I have had a terrible taste in my mouth from these damn protein shakes, but come on, kicking me when I am already down, how rude? So does anyone else have horrible breath/taste in their mouth? I chewed gum the rest of the day, but it tasted like crap too. How long does this last?

Yes, I do!!! I am finding myself brushing my teeth several times a day just to get rid of the nasty fuzzy, dry tongue feeling. And I think the bad breathe part comes from all the protein. So just keep that SF gum and breathe spray handy.

I have it also, my 5 year old said "mommy you stick when you talk to me". I am going out today to buy some disolable breath strips. It is because our bodies have gone into ketosis which it a good thing. It means your body is burning more fat because of lack of carbs. Kristin

Hey everyone... this is completely normal. I asked my Dr. and was told its your body going into ketosis. Everyone who has surgery goes through it. It can last a few days to a few weeks depending on how your body adjusts... mine is gone Thank Goodness...Lauren
