My Surgery is Tomorrow

Hi all tomorrow at 9am is my day and time. I am really nervous right now.

Hi Jessica, I wish you luck tomorrow! Remember to walk walk walk in the hospital it really helps. I had my RNY on Monday the 5th and I am sitting at my desk at work right this very minute. Let us know when you are home. You'll do great!! Cheryl

hi Jessica, Are you nervous about having surgery in general or about having this surgery? I had my gallbaldder taken out the old fashioned way (open), so I know what to expect from major surgery. I'm still excited about this surgery. But you're a day ahead of me. We'll see how I feel tomorrow... good luck, Jayne

I am not really afraid of the surgery but the anesthesia. I don't know why but anesthesia scares me. I have had a few surgeries before so I know what its like I just have this anesthesia fear for some reason.

Hi Jessica Best of Luck to you. You will do fine, it is natural to have concerns but just keep telling yourself you will be ok.

Hey Jessica, Good luck tomorrow, I had mine last Monday and I also am back to work today. I will tell you this, the surgery all in all, was fine. Although I did tell my nurse on Monday afternoon to call my doctor, I want to go back and be normal. I wanted to eat. It gets a lot easier. Monday sucked, Tuesday was better, Wednesday I just wanted to go home, Thursday I did go home. Everyday does get better and easier. Just know tomorrow is going to suck, but like I said, it does get better.

Good luck Jessica!! I know what you mean about the anesthesia. It too was my only real concern. I freak that I'm never gonna wake up again or something. That and I get pretty sick from it upon waking up. But I told the anesthesiologist that right away and he was able to give me 3 different meds before I even woke up to help with it. I was just really really tired and slept A LOT in the hospital. The walking will help with gas. That was my only pain complaint. We'll save you a nice warm spot on the losers bench...
