Monday is MY DAY

I'm home and sleeved. Scoot over on the loser's bench!
On the good side, the surgery went very well, and my recovery has been pretty easy as well. I can walk and climb stairs without much pain at all, and NONE of my surgical scars hurt unless I do something stupid like forget and bend down to pick something up.
On the down side, I do have some pretty incessant acidy nausea. I hope it's just the anesthesia and drugs, but those things never bothered me before. I'm taking Zantac, and have been prescribed Scopolamine (?) patches and Phenergen (?). The Phen knocks me flat on my bum, so I don't want to take it if I don't gotta.
Also, my blood oxy kept dipping every time I took of the cannula, so they made me take oxygen home. I'm hoping this also has to do with the anesthesia, and that I'll be able to rid myself of it by later this week or early next. I took 3 weeks VACATION time to do this, and had hoped that I would feel pretty good by 2nd week and have some time to enjoy myself. But I don't see myself enjoying shopping with friends or seeing a movie if I have a damned oxygen tank to schlep.
Anyway, it's mostly good news. I'm sleeved, recovering well, and despite a few things I'm not thrilled about, I'm glad I did it. Right now the most I can manage in a sitting is about 1/3 cup of Jello, a few tablespoons broth, or a popsicle.
One other thing that's interesting - NOTHING tastes very good to me right now. Did anyone else have this, and did it go away after awhile? I'm kind of hoping this will go away with the acid/nausea. But even if it doesn't, it just means my relationship with food as a way to celebrate or comfort myself is gone for good. And that's a good thing!
Thanks for all your prayers, PM's and good wishes.
