Well I am a little nervous because I feel like the day is getting closer. 13 days and counting... the worst part is the liquid diet because I have 3 little girls which I have to cook for and my boyfriend so u feel Kind of tempted with watching them eat in front of me but just taking it one day at a time. Anyone have any suggestions on what can help make these 2 weeks easier?

Well if your boyfriend is supportive of your dicission, meybe he could be responsible for feeding himself and the kids, there are alot of quick easy things for them to have so you can be away from them in another room or outside for a walk. Thats what my husband did for me and it helped alot don't get me wrong he had some coplaining on some of the nights cause he's not a cook, but I kept telling myself that I was going to make this work and put me first. Good Luck

I'm on day three of my liquid diet. It really isn't too bad since by now I've cut my food intake down quite a bit anyway so I'm not starving. I do get the stomach growls, then drink some water, protein drink or jello and it seems to go away. I do miss chewing on something. I realized I'm not hungry, just want to chew. My surgery is on the 13th. I bought some premade foods for my family while I'm going through this so my husband can do the cooking. They have been good and eat while I'm not around or I just go into the bedroom while they are cooking and eating. I know we are still supposed to eat as a family, I just can't do that yet!!

I don't have little ones, but my husband and 16 year old fended for themselves. They were very supportive. I found that I wasn't really hungry after the first couple of days so that made it easier. I am 6 days out and able to cook for my family again. I am not hungry at all now, post surgery. Spend some time taking care of you. Try getting your stuff ready for when you come home. Do you have your new diet requirements handy? Look into getting your protein powder and drinks etc. I was given some nice small bowls, shaker bottle, baby spoons (to control how much you eat at once) and measuring spoons for gifts while in the hospital. Boy were they ever helpful. I actually went and purchased more so I only had to do dishes once per day. I found most of these available at a dollar store. Good Luck, and Safe Recovery Dianna PS I also started walking to help with the recovery.

I am having surgery on the 21st also, and I just started the liquid diet yesterday. So far it has been okay, but I feel really hungry around noon. I cooked dinner last night for my husband and children, and it was hard because I am so used to tasting everything I cook. You will be okay, just remember that it will pay off in the long run. That's what I keep telling myself!!!
