Sugery's tomorrow!
I am having the lap band. (that is what my insurance would cover) I have been reading up on the success of others. I have to loose approx. 175 lbs. As I read or look at pictures it seems like those that have that much to loose don't seem to do as well with the lap band. I don't see a lot of people with that much to loose that make it down. I see 100-120ish pounds are the most common but that would not be enough for me. I'm sure it is mostly my pre-surgery nerves but I'm starting to stress that I'm going to go through the whole thing and find that it does not work for me! When I see a success story of someone who has lost 150lbs or more I cry because I think maybe I have a chance...how silly is that!
Overall I am very excited. I have already lost 20 lbs over the last 2 months in preparation for surgery. Just that little amount makes me excited for more.
Blessings on your surgery tomorrow. You have already started losing and your new tool for weight loss will be installed tomorrow. Your positive attitude and the lap band will make it possible. We gained the weight over time and it will take time to lose it, whether you have the lap band or another type of surgery. Unfortunately the insurance companies decide for us. I give thanks that you are able to at least have the lap band. There are those who desire WLS who have no insurance or their insurance covers no procedure. So...stay positive and your dream and goal will be a reality in time. YOU CAN DO IT!
