May 2nd Surgery done and home May 5th
Hi All
Wow, I had RNY done laparscopically on Friday am and I am happy to be home today May 5th . I was up walking around the next day. I started the full fluid bariatric diet today. I was on the clear fluid bariatric diet on Sunday. For Friday and Saturday I was allow 30 mls of water every hour. I am very happy to say that I have had very little pain. I was sent home with no pain killers as I haven't had anything since last night.
All I can say is how very terrified I was before the surgery. I am so glad it is over and so far (I do not want to jinx myself) everything is going fine.
Best wishes to all, and Best of luck to everyone who has their surgery coming up. In my opinion, the time before the surgery was a lot worse than after. Di
Hi Kelly
Thank you. So far I have found the most important thing is to be very careful with how much you ingest at a time. They started out with 30 mls of water every hour. My first breakfast yesterday was 1/4 cup diet jello, 2 ounces chicken broth, and a 1/4 cup of diluted fruit juice. It took me until lunch time to finish the jello, and I did not have the broth or the juice. I was never hungry. Take it slow and easy. Two days for you to go!!!
TAke care, My prayers are with you for a quick and speedy recovery.

I love your user name. Well, it should be day 2 post op for you. I hope all is going well. Just a head's up, you will gain water weight from the surgery, and IV. I gained over 5 lbs and finally lost it by post op day 5.
Hope your pain is minimal and you have a quick and safe recovery. Please let me know how you are doing.

Congrats!! My surgery was Monday 5/5 and I came home this afternoon. I have to agree that the worst is the time before the surgery and getting so nervous. I can't believe it is over. All I have had to drink is water, diluted juice and I started my protein shake today. I am taking it easy, I have some gas pain in my chest. I can't believe how grateful I am to be tooting!!! Best of luck to all of you.
