Got my date!
Hi to everyone! I've been a voyeur to this website for a very long time and I'm so excited to be joining the gang - finally! I will have the gastric bypass on May 6. I am getting very nervous. I have hurt my knee and I'm trying very hard to stay off of it so that it will not be an issue during my hospital stay.
My doc wants me to lose about 10 lbs before the surgery to reduce the size of my liver and I am trying very hard to do the liquid protein twice daily and have a small meal - along with drinking buckets of water. however, the tons of water equal frequent trips to the bathroom which equals more time on my feet which means more knee pain - what's a girl to do?
Welcome Connie, My date is May 5th. Not nervous so far I am saving that for later!
Starting my diet tomorrow its only for 5 days but real food not liquid,
very low carb. Pre op stuff has been keeping me busy, getting cardiac clearance done

Hi Connie,
I know what you mean about the liquid diet, I have been on protein 3 times a day for the past 2 weeks , and now I have been on clear liquids for 2 days, well yesterday and today. Then I can not have anything , no****er or anything starting tomorrow at 9am my surgery is at 1:00pm. So good luck with the protein and the knee. I will try to get back on here at give you some support after my surgery and before yours. Hopefully! Vic****ep the focus!!
CONGRATS CONNIE!!! When I finally got a date, it felt like it had been finalized. Although, the journey has really only began it's still an awesome feeling to know that so very soon your life is going to be better and more "normal" if you will. Best of wishes to you with the surgery & your knee hon!!!
