2 week diet

My surgery date is May 6. I tried to start my diet on Monday. I ate a chicken leg last night. should I call my nurse to change my surgery date? What protein shakes are good tasting? If i can't do the pre-op diet, I know I'll have a hard time after surgery.

I have to do a 4 week diet my surgery is on May 13th. For me I have to drink 5 optifast per day and have one small meal that is 4oz. of meat and a cup pf veggies. Its not too hard to do so far and its very important because it makes your liver smaller before surgery.

My surgery is May 6 and I started my 2 wk. diet on Tuesday, not Monday. I figure you are NPO the day before the surgery, so I'm not gonna be on liquids any more than I have to! I wouldn't reschedule my surgery at all. a side note.....I hate the liquid diet!!! I'm starving!!!! Help!!!!! I need some encouragement! Karin

OH Karin So how long have you been on your Liquid diet now, My surgery is May 1 and I have been on a liquid protein diet for 12 days. Everyday I don't think I'm going to make it but some how I do. Just keep going one day....one minute at a time, I just drank plenty of water with my other stuff and slowly the time has gone by. Good luck!

I started my two week diet on Monday. I haven't thought it was too bad. The first two days were harder than yesterday and today. I have been hungry, but I am trying not to think about it and if I get too hungry, I have a sugar free pudding. So it was like dessert. I do miss chewing and the sounds associated with chewing. I had a carrot the other night just to remember what crunching sounded like. I did go out and have a big last supper before I started this. It really helps seeing the weight fall off though. I have already lost over 5 pounds in a few days. And I am kind of ocd with writing everything I put into my body down and keeping track of how much I walked, my blood sugar, everything.
