WHO'S ON THE LIQUID DIET?
Oh my gosh......I'm starving....2 days on this liquid protein. They said to give it about 3 or 4 days and you shouldn't miss food that much. Heck if I didn't miss food that much... I wouldn't be doing all this in the first place! I love food!! lol hahaha......I'm taking one day....one minute at a time. I'm drinking water and herbal tea and trying to ignore bad eating habits that I've had for years. For me that is not so easy. Anybody have any suggestions??? (like maybe it would be ok for me to eat a cheeseburger) only kidding, I would never sabatoge myself, not after everything I've been through to get this far. Humor is all I have. lol otherwise I'm going to go crazy.
Hi,
I am not on the liquid diet yet so I don't have any answers for you. But I am going to pre-op on Thursday 4/24 so I will probably be on liquids after that with you. I feel for you though I am not looking forward to a liquid diet with a big appitite. Have you been given your surgery date yet? I am hoping mine won't be to long after pre-op.
Good Luck.

I started mine today and I keep telling myself it has not been that bad. But I am hungry and I need to drink more water, but I figure I am just going to go to bed early tonight and do it again tomrrow. Fortunately I own my own business, so there is no one to bring in food for lunch and I live alone, so again there will be no one to cook tonight. I think that is what will get me through this is not having to really smell food. It sucks, I will agree there, but in the end it will be a nice start to the next step.
Oh Lucky you, Even at 5-10% lost weight I would still have a Bmi of 58 which means 2 week clear liquids (and protein drink)
BUT I'm on my 5th day and it is getting easier. I went for my pre opp doctors appt today and everything is AOK I need to start liquid vitamin B12 but other then that I'm ready.
I am on the liquis diet my date is May 6th. I am going on my 3rd day, and let me tell you it has been sooooo hard, I work in a caferteria and I never use to think the food looked good, the last three days it has looked like heaven!!!! But I know that this will all be worth it in the end. So I wish all of you on your liquids Good Luck and I will keep you all in my prayers/

Hi,
I have been on the liquid diet for 5 days. The first three were the toughest. I keep my focus on what I can have and drink often. I found yesterday (day 5) that I was not even thirsty for most of the day. I have to say the toughest part was to smell cooking food. I went to bed early two nights to sleep through the smell. I am okay with it now. I have 7 more days of liquids and then surgery on May 1, 2008. Keep the focus! We can do this knowing we each are going through it.
