Hello Ladies, I will be having my gastric bypass on May 12th here in Boston. I am nervous but getting excited about the new life ahead! Dreading the liquid diet I must say! But I guess I've eaten enough in the past to make up for my new future Does anyone else have small children? I have a 3 year old and I am a wreck about leaving him for my hospital stay and trying not to confuse, scare him during this time. Good luck and god bless to all. Deb

Hi Deb. I've got the same name AND same surgery date. All of my kids are older but I'll tell you what I did when I took my parents to Florida when my kids were very little like yours. I bought them a little gift each day that I was gone and instructed them to open one each morning that I was gone. I put all of them in a bag and they were able to pick out which one (or course they were wrapped). They weren't expensive just a little something for them to "count" the days until I came back. It helped them and I got a kick out of it when they/I called each other. this might help with the sadness. Good luck on your surgery date. I will be thinking about you! Debbi

Hi Debbi! Thanks so much for this great idea...my son will love that! It's only 3 nights but will be the longest I have left him. He'll be home with his dad and my in-laws so I know he will be fine. Where are you having your surgery? is it gastric bypass? What made you decide to take the leap? Good luck to you also and stay in touch! Deb
