Hello from a May 2007 girl

Hey there everyone. I just wanted to stop by and say hello and offer a few words of encouragement to all of you! I am exactly one year ahead of you...and it's so wonderful to see all of you already jumping on the board and supporting one another. I can tell you that the May 2007 board is a great board...and they've all been GREAT supporters and encouragers through this whole process. We all struggle with different things pre and post-op.........and it really helps to have someone to talk to that can truely relate to what you're going through. Stick together Maysters! It will be worth it! A little about me......I'm 25 years old...and I'll be celebrating my one year surgiversary on May 17th. I went into the operating room weighing in at 367 lbs. I was wearing size 30 jeans...and at least a 26/28 top. I was wearing size 4x-5x scrubs (I'm an RN)! Now...I weigh 211 (I've lost 157 lbs)...I wear a size 16/18 jeans...a size 14 top...or a Jrs XL...and I wear size Large scrub tops...and XL bottoms. It's all happened so fast. I never had any major complications or issues. I had to have my gallblader removed in November...but that was easy breezy. It's really all a blur at this point. I work out about 3-5 days week....with a combination of cardio and weight training. Since I started working out more...the scale seems to be moving a whole lot less. It's EXTREMELY discouraging..........but since January when I started working out a lot harder--I've gone from a size 24 pants...to a 16-18. So I know it's working!!!!! I do have pictures that i've taken monthly in my OH albums--and I highly recommend doing this! If any of you have any questions...feel free to message me. Courtney- Thank you so much for the post!! My surgery is May 5th and I am starting out in almost the same place as you. You are an inspiration!! I checked out your blog and I thrilled to see where I could be this time next year. Kristin

Thanks Courtney for your kind words and encouragment. We Maysters do need to stick together. I know I will be here if anyone needs advice or encouragment.
