It has been one year and 15 days and this morning I met my goal of 138 lbs , that is 147 lbs lost. I feel great. I have not had one problem and would do it all over again.

I guess our pouches were good only so long. I'm battling the hunger too. I got really lazy with fluids for a while. Things just got SOOOOOOOOOOOO busy that drinking and peeing all the time just weren't options for me. But, things are a bit calmer so I'm getting in my fluids. I found that sipping on either my water or some iced tea with Splenda and I'm good to go. I don't have the munchies as bad when pouchy is nice and full of fluids. Good luck! * Cyndi *

Thanks John. Honestly, I still can't believe I got size 4s on. LOL I bought them on the way to recital practice and showed the bag to some moms. The moms at dance are so happy for me. I'm the second mom to have the surgery. We have a few more who ask LOTS of questions now. And, since the recital compares to a Broadway musical, us moms have LOTS of time together. LOL It was kind of weird how they "watched" me eat on recital day. The kids have two shows. I figured we'll be married 13 years in October. He forgot to call his mom on Sunday. I almost got on the phone and said "don't worry. He made my day suck too". LOL So, last night at dinner I told them the holiday is now banned from our home. I'll celebrate it for my mom but I don't want to hear it. I know I sound whiney but it's a complete miracle that I'm a mom anyway. You'd think they'd do "something" to celebrate it. In the end, it's ALWAYS all about him. Well, I'm back to the slave work. I'm down with the flu and have a wicked sore throat. But, I still got up at 5:30 to do the morning thing and take Britt to school. Where is his highness? Still in f-ing bed. * Cyndi *

Cheryl, I have shared that same issue. After a spell of too much experimentation, I have recently gone back to focusing primarily on protein and vegetables. I had let in too many carbs and those carbs just made me want more carbs. I'm doing much better. I've also recharged my commitment to drink water. I'd also suggest that you go back and read the material that you were given when you first had the surgery. You can always re-learn some of those things you forgot. Your pouch stands ready to serve you when you are ready to work it again. Best wishes on taking the control back. John

Hi Cyndi, I wanted to let you know that I did a bad job of celebrating Mother's Day for the first several years we were married. The first year was a breeze...she wasn't a mother yet. From year two to about year thirteen I really stunk at this holiday. Finally I learned the secret...ask ahead what would make the holiday wonderful to the respective honoree. When I started doing that, I got answers like "I just want good kids". We also make her breakfast and make sure that she has no work to do for the day. She still cleans stuff up, but not as much as usual. I just keep an eye on things and the kids and I take over when she starts doing anything. I have to admit, my most miserable holiday ten years ago was Mother's Day. Now, I think we have it down much better. It takes a bit of practice and you might need to share what would make YOU happy should you decide to celebrate it in the future. Oh..and I'm trying not to sound like a flirt here, but regarding your size 4's...you look like a young little cheerleader. How is that for a belated Mother's Day cheer up session? John

Hi gang. Well, I didn't want to start one because I just wanted Sunday to be over with. I let my family know Mother's Day is now NOT to be talked about in our home. I've reverted to some of my bad habits. Britt's dance recital was Saturday. It's two shows. So, I had to grab animal crackers and grapes where I could. But, ya know, I don't care at this point. I was a backstage mom and it was fun. I didn't gain so whatever. I started the journey at 265.8 This morning I was 142.6 Total lost is 123.2 pounds I'm hoping to hit 139 and that's IT! I'm not on OH too much. My computer crashed and I still don't have all my email accounts up. Goodness forbid he get me back on track. His birthday is Monday. I'm seriously thinking about "forgetting". LOL Enjoy the week! * Cyndi *

earlier I logged on and saw there was not a sunday thread and started to post one.....but since I have been the same weight I just did not want to I have stayed the same for a month as far as the scale goes but I know this is due to muscle mass cause I went down another size whoo hooo! It just gets frustrating. I told my surgeon today when I saw him about it. He said well Donna come on you have lost like 200lbs.....ok not EVEN close LOL! And that is what I told him ....ha only 128lbs LOL! He said well what is your BMI you should just shoot for a BMI of 30 and be happy.....I told him I would and that is where I want to be in 17 days and right now it is a 33......to which he said not by a year just in general.......so it is strange how each doctor is different! There have been some that have been worried that there surgeon would not be happy with their progress, that they had not made goal whjen there BMI is less than 30 and mine will just be happy with me getting to 30 someday. Whoo hoo for Christine and her WLS date!!!!! How exciting!!!!!!!
