Topic: OMG is it three years already?
Hi May 2007 family!  I've missed you all so much!  I can't believe we're here.  We're all celebrating three years post-op!  I remember when I first found you all and, one by one, we made it to the Loser's Bench.  I'm so proud of each and every one of us.  I know our new lives have brought about incredible changes.  Some of you may not know but I took a step even bigger than surgery.  Today I celebrate 14 weeks of being divorced.  It's a whole new world but it's pretty exciting!  I've met someone who is absolutely AMAZING.  He's so supportive of everything I do.  He was there when I first decided to file for divorce.  My daughter is doing great and so happy he's out of our lives.  He's had no contact with us since late February....that includes him also being quite far behind in child support.  But, no one was surprised.

I'm still about 135 pounds and still feeling pretty great.  The hospital near me has just started doing weight loss surgeries.  I'm trying hard to get a job in that department.  I think it would be a great opportunity for me and for pre-ops.

Just wanted to check in and see if anyone still checks our board.  I miss you all!

I'm here John, see my hand raised?  Yea, I need this desperately and will be going to 10410 as soon as I'm done "letting it all out"" here.  It's a combination of laziness, and "life happens" stuff, and, according to my surgeon and nutritionist, I haven't done "real" damage, but I know what comes next if I'm not vigilant.

But holy cow! 3 YEARS!  Can you all believe it?  Tomorrow is my 3-year surgiversary and while I'm not at my lowest, I am close, and happy, no, greatful to be here.

Looking forward to "clicking" with all of you again....

HAPPY MAY SURGIVERSARY!

Hi Betsy!  Boy have I been MIA.  Be careful with that knee injury.  Make sure your doctor says it's okay to exercise.  You sure don't want to do more damage to it.  Congrats on the two pound loss! :D  Any loss is a good loss! :D

Congratualtions Rebecca!!  You are doing great!  Wish I could say the same, but I am working on it now.

I do know what you mean about the keeping it off, since I have gained back 20 lbs.  I now have to lose that because it is really getting to me.  I don't want to regain everything!!

Topic: Getting Re-Started
Well, I am finally getting moving........I joined a fitness center by my work.  I figure this way I can go work out before I go home for the day.  When I get home, I start doing housework and laundry, then it's supper time and clean-up and I just want to sit down and relax.  I make too many excuses why I don't get on the treadmill (at home).

I actually started this morning.  I was at the fitness center at 6:20 am.  Tried out a few pieces of equipment, but did most of my time on the treadmill.  I injured my knee Sunday in a fall.  I am not letting it become an excuse to not do anything though.  I did walk on the treadmill for 26 min.  Maybe not as fast as normal, but at least I was on it.

I am down two pounds this week too.......things are definitely moving in the right direction.

Have a great day everyone!!

I can't believe 3 years is around the corner... Where did the time go?? I haven't checked in for a very long time but I don't know if thats a good thing we are all moving forward with our lives or a bad that we don't really have a lot of support like we used to. I stopped going to the support group around here but a part of me thinks going back would be a good thing. Life is so busy I just don't have the extra time lol..thats so sad to say.  Hope you had a great New Years and I'm so happy to say my new year resolutions didn't involve weight! How great is that??

Hugs to all,

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca!  Congratulations on the new baby!  I'm so happy for you!  It sounds like you're doing great!  I feel so bad that I don't check in too much.  I really should.  It seems weird we're all getting ready for our third anniversaries and I still feel like a rookie at this. :)

Thanks for checking in!!!

Hi May 07 friends,

I'm inviting you to a little group to help those (yes, including myself) who have gained 10 or more pounds beyond that lowest weight. We are calling it the "Drop 10 for 10 Challenge". You can easily join this group by going to www.obesityhelp.com/group/Drop10410. I'm hoping that with your help we can generate a little excitement and enthusiasm for getting back on track. We will have a monthly weighin, but it will only be pounds off since the start of the new 2010 decade. Your participation is only what you want to make it. I'm pumped up and ready to get back on track for 2010.

There are no hard and fast rules for joining, but you really should be at least 10 pounds above your lowest post-surgery weight and interested in getting things back in line.

Let's get this new decade off to a great start.

Not sure if anyone remembers me Rebecca, I have been gone for a long long time. I had surgery 5/9/07 in Portland Oregon

I started at 261 and am now at 164 and happy with that. At 14 months post op I found out I was pregnant and I now have a 9 month old baby boy and a 5 year old. I gained 17lbs during my pregnancy  and have lost 27 lbs since having him. Am I working on losing weight NO am I happy about it the extra loss? Yes LOL .  I still feel full very easy and I can't eat a lot of sugar. I don't do my protien first which I wish I still did and I don't take my vitamins :(  I wonder if its all going to come crashing down. I don't consider myself a success , anyone can lose weight but keeping it off is the true test ya know?

I read some of the posts and am happy to see everyone and your all doing soooo well!
