Hi Mary Anne, I don't like to drink water unless I am dying of thirst so to get my 64 ounces down, I make a jug of Crystal Lite and my favorite flavor is orange or fruit punch. Then I can get it down. Take Q10 Enzyme 100mg a day and your hair will stop falling out and also at Wal-mart or GNC you can get Gelatin Capsules so you can take them also to help with hair loss. I am 60 years old and losing fairly fast for my age. My surgery was May 7th and I have lost 76 pounds but I eat a lot of protein and if I can't eat the protein, I drink protein shakes. Weight loss is weird sometimes. Sometimes I stay the same for two weeks and then I get on the scale and 10 pounds is gone. Our bodies have to adjust to this surgery and weight loss. Just keep up the good work and don't get down on yourself, you are doing fine. Hugs, Esther

I don't know John. After having all my diagnoses read "morbidly obese" even if I had bronchitis, hearing I'm overweight is just fine with me! lol But, then, I'm a little bit warped anyway. I emailed my skinny mom yesterday and she was so excited. I was even happier when my surgeon told me I'm ahead of his schedule. Woohoo! He told me if I decide to up my walks to 5 miles a day I have to get an okay from my orthopedic surgeon. LOL I've avoided my orthopedic surgeon because of my weight. Did you know that walking up and down stairs puts 3X your body weight on your knees? Crap, no wonder so many overweight people have knees that are shot!!! So, I really can't wait to see him because I'm not putting 795 pounds on them. I'm *just* putting 564 pounds on them now. LOL At least he can't give me the "you HAVE to lose weight!" speech now. * Cyndi *

Thanks Chantal! I was 188.3 this morning. These 3.5 mile walks are finally starting to help. You'll get to "overweight" in no time! My family couldn't figure out why I was so happy until I showed them the BMI calculator. I'm happy I make them laugh at my weight-loss lunacy. * Cyndi *

I too have stalled....I am down 80lbs....and the 2-3 lb flux is annoying!!!! Discouraging too! let me know what works, I am at a loss!

Cyndi, I'm glad to hear that you are overweight. Read that sentence again...did you ever think that you would love to hear that from anyone in your life? If I had said that to you a year or two ago, you probably would have at least been tempted to slap me up good....LOL. Good job. John

First of all, stop weighing yourself so often. Once a week is good enough. I was making myself nuts with the ups and downs and now that I am weighing once a week I have found that I am losing 2-3 pounds a week. When I was weighing myself everyday, I was getting depressed. When I was at a plateau for a week, I started taking fiber and man, the weight started coming off again. You are doing great with your weight loss. I have lost 75.5 pounds and thought that was good. Mary Anne, You don't have to *just* drink water. What about decaf iced tea with Splenda? I drink that, sugar free Kool Aid, but my protein drinks are my faves. I saw my surgeon today and I asked him about the hair loss. I have super thick, long hair and I kept one day's loss in a baggie. It FILLED a Gallon Ziploc. He told me I MUST get the protein in. So, I put 10 oz. of sugar free Tropicana Orangeade in my Magic Bullet with one scoop of Nectar Fuzzy Navel. It's wonderful!!! He also told me to take the Hair and Nails vitamins that are carried at GNC. I'm checking that out tonight. Weight loss is a funny thing. I was stalled for a while and between Sunday and today I'm down almost 5 pounds. Congrats!!! * Cyndi *
