Nice pix, April! You are looking great. Careful those jeans don't fall down on you!

Topic: RE: Take me off that list!!!
Way to go, John! If I were in your class, I'd give you an apple. Wait...we don't celebrate with food anymore. That's not appropriate.
OK, how 'bout I give you the clap? No wait, that's also not appropriate.
Now I'm skinny all my social norms are messed up. Let me go off and think about how to best congratulate you. Can I get back to you on this? This weight loss thing is more confusing than I thought.

Topic: RE: 10 lbs till "normal"
That's awesome, Heather! Congrats!
I just broke through to regular obese down from morbidly obese and have a ways to go before "normal" but it sure is encouraging to see you made it. Makes me more determined to keep working my own plan.

Topic: RE: My WOW moment!!!
Congrats on the WOW moment, Donna! I bought size 38 jeans last weekend and I started in size 50 so I know the feeling.
But the comment about "Dress Barn" is what capped it off for me. Gotta love it!

Topic: If you are reading this, consider yourself family
I just dropped in to OH to check the boards and see how everyone is doing. Had some extra time so I swung by my other bookmarked boards - NC, the Men's board, my surgeon's board. It struck me that this is the board I call home and consider family. We all went through the process together and even though many of us are now infrequent visitors, I still feel a closer bond to the folks here. I love to read up on how everyone is doing and see the new pictures, even when I don't have time to post.
So having come to that realization I wanted to share it with you all. My adopted online family.
Oh, and by the way - I'll be home for Thanksgiving. I'd tell you to set a place at the table but I think the feast has been toned down somewhat. So what do we do now? Do we all become the weird relative at Thanksgiving who entertains the kids with the "pull my finger" joke? Do we hand the master of ceremonies a deck of cards and say "carve me out about this much"? Do we make science project volcanoes on our plates with the mashed potatoes and gravy?
Oh yeah, this first post-op holiday season promises to be *real*interesting.

Topic: RE: How much can YOU eat?
I can eat about 1 - 1/2 cup at a sitting (although over 20-30 minutes). My nutritionist feels I'm doing ok and begs me not to be food-phobic or too obsessed about certain issues (veggie carbs for example - not potatoes, but carbs in beans, eggplant, etc.) Remember we have to learn to live normally; that means eating well but correctly and listening to our bodies to tell us when we're too full - that's what the pouch does.
That sounded like I was being preachy -I'm not, it is incredibly hard and I struggle with it everyday, but I have bought into to that thinking and work towards that goal. I've drunk the Kool-Aid but at least it's sugar-free!
Topic: RE: Sunday Weigh in!
Highest: 271

I haven't been to the gym in 3 weeks because of my schedule and HOPE to get going again this week, 'cause right now, thank goodness I'm still losing but slooooowwwwly.
Topic: RE: 10 lbs till "normal"
That's incredible - congratulations - here's to hoping it goes quickly (and safely!)
Topic: RE: My WOW moment!!!
That's incredible Donna - aren't 16's just great! My problem with shopping now is that there are too many choices - I'm used to only buying what fits. I've bought WAY too much! :-0
Topic: RE: 10 lbs till "normal"
First of a big Congratulations to you!!! Seeing how close you were I had to refigure my BMI and I am 9 lbs from being in the normal range. I want to lose at least 15 more and I would like to do it by the time I go to the Dr. towards the end of November. I'm losing so slow now that I probably won't do it, but I can wish and try. Hugs, Sue
