I was really hoping to get to the 90 mark but it didn't happen. LOL BUT, I had to go to the funeral yesterday. I haven't seen most of that side of the family since 2000. Well, I wore a dress I had bought in August....21 lbs ago. LOL The thing fit nicely but you could tell it was a bit big. I also found a black crop jacket I bought, oh about 20 years ago that was size 14. LOL It was HUGE on me. Walked in with my mom and a couple jaws dropped. LOL My mom's oldest sister told me I looked fantastic and she was worried when my grandmother told her I did it. A cousin was in shock. Her husband told me I looked fantastic and don't need to lose anything else. When I said I was 26 lbs from my surgeon's goal their eyes got huge. LOL Lots of compliments BUT I was happy I *wasn't* the biggest in the room anymore.
Oh, yeah, my pink skinny jeans fit great! I wore those yesterday and hubby took pics. I bought those about 20 years ago too. LOL I kept the tags and stuff for my scrapbook page. LOL
Hope you all have a great week!!!!!

Donna, happens to me ALL the time! I was afraid I wouldn't lose this week, but I managed to drop a pound, though. I share the frustration

Okay I am going to start this and then run ot work but I don't want too.......I have not lost anything this week.....in fact last week I was 243 and this week 244.....?????????????????????????????????????????
The weird thing is I am in a pair of pants I could not wear last week. Ok, strange. I have felt bloated the last few days and my ring that was so loose has been tight. Not sure what is up with that.
Hope others had better luck this week!

I used to go to the YMCA super early and get there just when they opened. It never failed to crack me up to see all these people jockeying their cars around the lot trying to get a close parking spot - and then go inside and get on a treadmill. I used to park out at the back of the lot but you got me beat by a mile, girl!
And walking in is a great way to warm up. You will be running around the track with Rebecca before you know it.

Topic: RE: my father past away and food
Hi Tina,
I am so sorry to hear about your father. There is a trick you need to know about emotional eating. It has to do with the fact that your subconscious mind does not understand negatives. For example, if I said to you "don't think about an apple", there is no way for you to read that without your subconscious mind fetching up an image of an apple and presenting it to you.
So when you are trying real hard not to think about food, your subconscious mind fetches up images of exactly what you are trying to avoid and presents them to you. The trick is that, instead of focusing on what *not* to think about, focus on something else altogether. Make a list of things you need to do and concentrate on completing it. Get at least two books and start reading. When you finish the first, put getting another one on your list of things to do while you work on the second. Set a goal for your exercise that will take you to a new personal best and then work hard to achieve it. Contact all the friends you haven't talked to in a while and get caught up. In short, immerse yourself in the constructive or enjoyable things in your life and fully engage in them. Every time you catch yourself thinking inappropriately about food, redirect your energy to something on your list of activities and tasks.
It's not much advice, I know. But the notion that trying not to think about something causes your mind to focus on it even more explains a lot about why our obsessions spiral out of control and gives us a tool to break that spiral. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Hi Alison,
If you have notification on, you'll get an email from this post. I wanted to put it here in the forum so others could enjoy it without waiting for your compilation to come out. Hope you don't mind!
Parmesan Encrusted Salmon
Fresh salmon filets
Fat Free Zesty Italian salad dressing
Equal parts grated parmesan and Italian bread crumbs
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
Marinate salmon in dressing for at least 30 minutes. A couple hours is better.
Roll filets in cheese/bread crumb mixture to cover.
Place salmon skin-down in baking dish prepared with no-stick spray and place in 400 degree oven.
After cheese begins to set (5 minutes or so), brush lightly with olive oil.
Bake for a total of about 12 minutes (or about 10 minutes per inch of thickness).
My family loves this recipe served over mushroom risotto and with a side of fresh steamed veggies. Yum! I cheat and make the risotto from a box (sorry, grandma) so I can throw the whole dinner together in the time it takes the oven to pre-heat. WLS graduates can control the carbs by reducing the risotto portion and favoring the salmon and veggies.
