Topic: OT - Need positive energy from my OH family
My hottie man husband came home early from work yesterday c/o minor chest pain. He slept all day, got up and was fine. Then this a.m. he called off work c/o chest pains again. I dropped him off @ ER around 9am. Kept trying to call him from my work, but couldn't reach him. Finally he called me around 3pm. Doc diagnosed pancreatitis and admitted him for @ least overnight. It can be quite serious & I am a little scared. He's all the real family I have. Please keep him in your thoughts or prayers. Thank you all, April

It's completely normal and it is true that the anaesthesia plays a big role in the hairloss. To top it off, our bodies have all been in and out of starvation mode for months. I was told it lasted anywhere from month 3 to 6 to 9. Hair was a huge deal for me pre-op, it was the 1 thing I didn't hate about myself so I swore I'd OD on biotin, but biotin won't stop/prevent hairloss from happening. There's nothing you can take unfortunately to stop/prevent this from happening. You can take stuff to promote hair growth (warning...this makes hair gros everywhere, not just your head ) but it really hasn't been as traumatic as I imagined. I think it's been more annoying than anything. I'll be 6 months out next week and it has slowed down big time in the past week!

Join the club Donnie, My hair is getting very thin but my surgeon reassures me that it will come back. He told me to take Q10 Enzymes (over the counter) and gelatin capsules and it doesn't seem to be falling out as fast now. Hair falls out after any surgery I've heard. Hugs, Esther

Hello everyone, i totally forgot to weigh in on Sunday. It has been a longgg time since I have done the weigh in, but I promised that I would start again. I am trying to make a new start of this whole thing. So the past 5 days I have increased my protein and exercise. Here is what happened: Surgery weight: 280lbs. 5 days ago: 221lbs this morning: 218.5lbs Total loss since surgery: 61.5 lbs Total. 3.5 lbs lost in 5 days ( keep in mind that I was stalled for the past month though) More protein must have been the answer to my stall. Thank you all for keeping my hopes up and giving me the motivation to try again. By the way I read through alot of your profiles and looked at the updated pictures. Everyone looks great. We have a bunch of HOT mamas on the May boeard now. lol Keep up the great work. Hugs Tina

Thanks Donna!!!! Yes it is a great feeling. Have a wonderful time camping and I hope you enjoy horseback riding. You should gloat...you are doing an awesome job. I noticed for the first time this school year I am not the biggest mom at either my son or daughter's schools, it is a nice feeling for me to feel somewhat "normal". Kelly

Donnie, I am right there with you. My hair has been falling out for a couple months now. It is driving me crazy...hair everywhere. I fit in with the shedding cat & dog...lol. I went and had layers put in my hair and it has made it fuller. My surgeon said that he has never had a patient go bald and i don't want to be the first...lol. Kelly

Whooo hoooo isn't that a great feeling!!!! I made that goal about 35 lbs ago.....so nice to be less than him again LOL! Now I am getting smaller than some of my children's moms. And I am going horseback riding with my daughter for hte first time on Sat. I can actually ride a horse now. Funny thing for me. My friend and her daughter are going with us (we will be at a cub scout campout and are taking mommy daughter time) anyway it was her that was worried about being too big for the horse. And that is when I realized that I weigh less than she does now. Not that I am gloating (ok maybe a little) but to be the "smaller" one. WOW! Keep up the great work! Donna
