I'v tried diet sodas that are fountain drinks. They tasked really good!!! I was afraid I was going to be as addicted as I was before WLS. As long as they are over ice they don't hurt me but I belch like crazy. I hope I haven't stretched out my pouch. I tried to swith back to Iced Tea.
Topic: I hate to complain but I'm really confussed
I had surgery in May of this year and have lost 50lbs. I started out at a size 16 and am now into a 6. Sounds great but I'm still at 162 lbs. I am 5'5. This doesn't sound right. I have been at this weight before but I was in a 12 or 10. Have sizes changed that much? I am exercising 2 to 3 days a week but I still have a lot of sagging skin on my legs and tummy. I'm just wondering what size I will continue to shrink to.

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This year I am a INSANE INMATE....I have bars on my office windows with beware signs all over the door. I have my hair ratted wildly with a black eye. When the bell rings (I work at a high school) and the students are passing to their next class I turn off my lights and stand looking out the bars with a strobe light on me.
I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs,
Esther

Thanks John and LOL about the OTHER holidays. I am not sure if I will quite make it but I am going to sure try. Of course if I go by my highest weight I only have 15 more to go
!!! I know that I need to move more to get things going a bit faster again. I have been averaging 15 pounds a month so I should perhaps make it. Of course that would be nice if it was by my 6 month appt but not realistic since that is less than a month away. Slow and Steady.......LOL!

Topic: Do you believe this?!!
I had to have some routine blood work done. Why my ob/gyn wanted to do a check on my thyroid is beyond me. Anyway.........my Dr. is telling me I may have a problem. It is not functioning normally. It may be too slow. Go figure! I always had this fear it wasn't working normally before the surgery, that is why I was so fat......lol. So now that I have had surgery it is going to act up??? I am doing great losing weight (in my opinion and my WLS). I have to go back in two months for a re-check. They did say it could be acting up from the surgery. I am hoping it corrects itself.
Anyone have a problem like this after surgery? Any advice????
Thanks, Betsy

Hi Donna,
The new pics are great. It looks like you had a great time camping.
I read that you were setting a goal of dropping 100 pounds by the holidays. I know you can do it. You have to drop 11 pounds a month to be there by the end of the year. You can do it by staying focused...go for it.
Well....okay, if you don't quite make it, there is always President's Day...or St. Valentine's Day...you will make it by the holidays either way. Go ahead..try for the end of the year though. I'll be checking in on you...okay?
John

Topic: RE: OMG! HOW MUCH LONGER WILL THIS LAST?
Chris,
I try to keep things simple, but I track two things very carefully. The amount of protein I take in each day is very closely monitored. As a man, I keep mine at 90 grams. I also stay at 1000-1200 calories. The biggest help is my fitday.com program that keeps me in check. I agree with all of those things and when I have a bad week I go back to my trusted friends....chicken and fish. When I keep those protein levels up, I don't get nearly as hungry. Your comment about "some sort of moving" everyday seems a bit vague. I feel pretty busy too, but I have plenty of elbow room in our little town when I'm out walking at 4:45 am. I only have time for a two mile walk, but that keeps the scale moving too. Setting time for planned exercise is going to be a key to long-term success, so try to embrace it if you have not already made steps to do so.
Hang in there and try not weighing every day. I know the temptation is great. I weigh once a week on an offical doctor's scale and that keeps things in a better perspective. I do use a small scale at home, but I just use it to see what the trend might be for the week. You will be reporting back great success in just a week or so.
Let us know about that great loss that is heading your way. Just remember, you cannot faithfully consume 1000 calories a day and not lose weight.
John
