Topic: I'm NORMAL!
Hi everyone! I've been away from OH so I updated my ticker. Imagine my surprise that, at 164, my BMI was 24.9.........NORMAL!!!!! I'm in complete shock! I was 163.3 this morning. My doctor's goal is 150. So, mine is 149.
While on vacation my MIL bought me a velour workout outfit at Walmart. I took in a 12/14 jacket and 12/14 pants. She "insisted" I take in the 8/10 pants too. I laughed and said why not. The 8/10s fit! I kept leaning toward the 12/14s but MIL and daughter kept saying they were too big. WTH???? I kept the 12/14 jacket because I'll have to wear sweaters or turtlenecks underneath. But, I still have the 8/10 pants here. I'm having my best friend look at them because I still think they're too small. LOL
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could go from 265 lbs to 163.3 lbs in just over 6 months! I celebrated my 6 month surgiversary on the road Sunday. Mark still has to take my 6 month pics. I'm making him do it tonight.
I would never be this happy or doing this well without you all. I love my May family so much! Thank you for helping me become "normal"!!!!

Hi Cyndi,
I didn't recognize you....you are so skinny and look so great. You did better then I did, that's for sure. At least you lost. I am really working hard this week to get the scale going down again. I love your picture. Keep it up Cyndi, you should be so proud of yourself.
Hugs,
Esther

Hey April!
Hope everyone is having a good week. I've been really busy with school and work and haven't had time to post at all! I'm doing okay. My losses have slowed down big time but I've come to terms with it and as long as the weight is still coming off, as freakishly slow as it may be, I know the "end" is near.
Pre-op: 272.8
Last week: 177.4
This week: 175.6
Loss: -1.6
Total: -97.2
At the rate I'm going I'll be happy to make it in the century club by Christmas

I know you're going through hard times right now, but try to remember the good times with your grandma. And while your having thoose thoughts of the past, keep in mind that your grandma would not want to see you slide on your new life, and will want to see you keep getting healthier. Sorry for you loss, and hang in there, you can do it!!!

Amy,
Sorry for your loss.....good suggestion already to have a drink in your hand at all times. Also pack you a small ice chest that has what you can have it in. Protien drinks etc. That is what helped me though what also helped is I was just four weeks post op. Try to make smartest choices you can out of what is available eating protein first will help as you will be full by the time you get to something you should not have. But by packing your own snacks you might avoid that all together. Remember to sip water constantly and that will help as well.
I known this is not an easy time, but I found it was much easier than I thought. And having more time to visit with family instead of worrying about eating was nice. Also I make it my mission to make sure everyone else had food and drink....kept me too busy to eat myself!

One of the things that worked well for me was to always keep a drink in my hand. I was able to explain my not eating as one of the rules that you can not eat and drink at the same time. It worked for me. My thoughts are with you in your time of sorrow!! Stay strong, and know that your grandmother would want you to be healthy so do it for her.

Amy.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a grandma is terrible. Mine will be gone 12 years Christmas morning. I'm a mess already.
Try to stear clear from the food. Take this time to talk with family members. Or, if you really need to eat, put some things on a plate and just eat off that one plate. I know you'll be fine. You've got 6 months post-op behind you. Your good decisions will come automatically.
You're in my thoughts.
