5 Day Pouch Test

Well, I thought it was time to give myself a little shake-up, to realign, so to speak my eating. Although the majority of carbs I eat in totla are from fruit and vvegetables, it did seem that I was getting quite a bit every day. Also, my appetitie has really grown. I was a bit alarmed, but not distraught or overwhelmed, so I decided to give this a try. So far, I made it through the first two all-liquid days and, much to my surprise, FINALLY find a protein I can drink. (I was miserable after my RNY a year ago - all of the protein drinks I tried made me nauseous.) I'm using an unflavored soy protein and making my own shakes. Probably many of you have been doing this already - but it took me a year to find it. Today I am on "soft proteins" (eggs, finely mashed tuna, etc) and doing just fine. I do notice a difference in my hunger level, and my "losing the carbs" hasn't been as painful as I thought it would be. A side benefit is a minor "cleaning out" so to speak. I'm really glad I did this - after my 5th day on Thursday, I hope I can begin on a modified basis again, much like I did a year ago. True, I'm sure I'll be eating more, but not as much as I did before this. The *other* Cyndi

You're brave Cyndi. I tried the 5-Day Pouch Test and couldn't do it. It made me sick. Mark swears I don't eat enough but it seems to me I'm eating all the time. Gee, no wonder my scale wouldn't move. It's always great to find a protein shake you can tolerate. I'm still sticking with my Fuzzy Navel and Orangeades. Though the orange creamsicle and orangeade is quite yummy too. You're doing great! You'll have to let us know what your scale shows after the test. * Cyndi *
