Really Has it been almost a year?
Yep, it really has been almost a year, and it seems like just yesterday that I was fretting over all of the "risk" involved in the surgery and how I was so fearful....I'm 2/3rds the size that I was a year ago. I still have another 70 lbs to go, but it will happen. I can't say that I have had a lot of problems....I'm so much healthier than I was back then. I just keep singing Dr. Deveney's Praises and thanking him and his staff for helping me to get my life back. Even my grandchildren are amazed at the things I can do now (including getting down on the floor an playing with them).
We bought a fifth-wheel last July, and we have been traveling (living in the fifth-wheel) and are hoping to sell our home and get a little bigger fifth-wheel. This is something I would have never thought of weighing 327 lbs....but now I actually fit in the little restroom, and can take showers in tha*****bitty tub! My husband and I actually fit in the bed together! Life is just flat good.
One health problem has come up - I've got bradycardia (slow heart beat). It's causing some exhaustion issues, and I am not exercising like I was hoping I would. I even drug my old walker out and have had to use it. It's weird, because before the surgery I had high blood pressure issues...now slow heart rate issues.....ugh! Oh well, possibly a pacemaker will be put in - and that's a quick and easy resolve. I just wonder if this is common for others after surgery.
Hope everyone else is doing well also!
