Friends hear it first here...
I am so very happy today. My wife was approved for her surgery for mid June or early July. The doc's office sent the paperwork in this past Monday and they heard back with approval on Friday evening. It was so late on Friday night that the bariatric coordinator didn't call. Then, I was at the support group this morning and the nurse said, "That sure is good news about Christine". I said, "What news?" It was at that point that I learned that she was approved. I began to tear up and shake from excitement.
Needless to say, I had them call Christine right after the meeting. I dialed the phone and got Christine on the line. I was supposed to pick up a cake and some ice cream for Mother's Day after the meeting. To stall, I asked her what it was that I was supposed to pick up. She started calling me loony for forgetting what it was that I needed to pick up. I told her to hold on and I handed the phone to the nurse. She told Christine that she was approved. Christine was so shocked.
I didn't just get the ice cream and cake..this was a day for roses. We have never been a big flower family, but this time Christine did not say that it was a waste of money. I'm so glad it played out the way that it did...
What a great day...and I wanted my friends here at the May board to be the first to know.
Wow...we will be a true bariatric family.

Thank you April and Cyndi,
Yes, if you look up in the sky and see anyone up there floating in the clouds, it could be Christine or me....it will take us a while to come down off this one. This is the best Mother's Day weekend ever. Around here, Mother's Day starts on Friday night and goes until Monday morning. My wife knows how to squeeze every bit of celebration out of that one.
Christine...our family queen...she knows it and deserves it.

That's great. Frankly, Mother's Day means nothing around here. We did breakfast and I came home and got back to chores. They're down playing some stupid computer game called Diablo and I'm up here doing laundry, cleaning up the stuff from her recital and everything else. I kinda laugh at this mother's day hoopla. It's just like every other day around here.
