Calories????
I thought this would be a great board to post on since we are all the same "distance" from our surgery date. How many calories do you think you are taking in on any given day? Did your surgeon give you a guideline of how many you should be eating in a day? I am wondering if I am eating too many calories, if that is why I am at a "stall". Would appreciate any input one might share.

Hi Sally! Welcome to the May board! I asked this when I saw my surgeon a couple weeks ago. He doesn't have me dwell on calories. He wants me to concentrate on protein (65 grams a day), fluids (64+ oz a day) and three meals and two snacks if I want. Are you getting enough fluids in? Are you getting your protein? I'm not a breakfast person so I have a shake for breakfast. Typically it's either a Fuzzy Navel or Orange Creamsicle shake. I love sweets! lol For lunch it's usually kiddie grilled chicken tenders at Cracker Barrel. We have lots of lunch meetings so it's my standby unless they have beef noodle soup. I'm not as dedicated to FitDay.com but have you tried using that? I know I mentioned to my surgeon someone "insisted" on the Main Board we should be gettting about 1200 calories a day. His comment? "Bet they gain a lot back too". lol He told me with the sizes of our pouches, unless we're olympic athletes, it shouldn't be more than 1000 calories a day. I'm lucky to get in 850 calories a day. My shakes are 95 calories and I have 2 a day. Chicken isn't high at all.
Make sure you're getting the protein and the fluids. Or, maybe your body is readjusting. When I hit stalls I know the inches are melting. I've been stuck at 148 since about January 26 but I got on size 6 jeans the other day. I have a feeling I'll be at 145 soon. lol
Good luck!!!!

Thank you for your responses. Sounds like I am right on track with my calorie intake. I am going to increase my fluid and protein and see if that helps. I think it is just another stall. I just get so discouraged when I read how much better others who had the surgery around the same time as me have done.
