Okay...I admit it

Hi everyone, I have to admit it. For the regulars, you may be noticing a recent buzz of activity on this message board recently. My wife is going for a new position at her company and I have lost a bit of sleep yesterday when she had to get up to go in early to work. She was working a 12 hour shift on about 4 hours of sleep and then still hammered the interview anyway. To give you an idea, the person before her was a 20-25 minute interview. My dw was still in the interview after 1 hour and 5 minutes when it finally came to a close. At first they were saying "the person who gets this position" and at the end they were all (yes, all 9 of them) talking about "this is what you will be doing". I guess i'm pretty happy with my wife right now. So anyway, back to my story, I was up and couldn't sleep, so I PM'ed over 100 people who had been to our May 2007 board in the past year. To the left there is the blue bar. It has a "Roster of Members". If you go there, you will see a list of everyone who has ever posted here on our board. I looked for the ones who had posted quite a lot as well as the ones who looked like they were updating their profile regularly....a more current avitar. So...I started that thread of checking in and was pleasantly surprised to see so many people respond. I do hope that it is the start of a reconnection with these folks. We can all journey together and support one another better if we hang tough together. Let's stay connected...even as we get so busy now with our new lives...just try to keep stopping in and saying hi once in awhile. So there you have it, the mystery is solved.... John

First, happy 8 month surgiversary John!!! I'm really glad you took all that time to PM the member list. I kind of thought you did. I did it for the scrapbook forum and, after PMming about 150 people, it's still silent. It's great seeing the activity here. I still swear it's the BEST board here on OH. I get more support, more ideas and have more laughs with the group here than anywhere else. Maybe other forums should look at us. I think we're pretty terrific. And, congrats to the DW!!! It certainly sounds like she nailed the interview!!! * Cyndi *

Yuppers! Here's the link. No one has posted since about August so one of the members made a Yahoogroup that I'm also a member of. I started working on my album this week! Yippee! I'm going to make an 8x8 copy for my surgeon. Let me know if you want the address to the Yahoogroup. * Cyndi *

Cyndi, yes I would love that link. I have a book that I have been making that I take to share with others. Going to make a book for my surgeon that I will take to him on my 1 year visit. Donna

Hello, John. Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to contact me. I must confess, this journey has not been going so well. But I have renewed my resolve to get back on board and be as committed to my success AFTER the surgery as I was committed to GETTING APPROVAL for surgery. I was hesitant about the GASTRIC BYPASS procedure, so I opted for LAPBAND. I find that it really requires work, dedication and commitment. I was reading another posting from a lady who had complications and lost 40 lbs in the first 3 months and that was about it.I can so relate. (My band was not tight enough though!) I was at a point where I did not even want to get on the scales anymore. I had my band adjusted December 7 and things seem to be better. There is not a "supportive" support group in Pulaski. The meeting I attended was more of a women's social gathering discussing how they cheat and about family (anything but encouragement or support). So, I never returned. I will come back to this board for friendship, fellowship and support. Thanks, John, for reaching out. You are appreciated!

Joh, This is such a good and NICE idea - there are so many people who contribute to this forum, but I feel like you are the "soul" here - you are working hard for us to really feel like a special, cohesive group! (BTW, thanks for surreptiously/virtually "talking" to my scale - it finally moved!) I want to be a bigger part of this forum, and hope I make the next "frequent posters'" list! After all, we May-ers know best what we are all going through! Cyndi
